Emmy Night
How did I spend Emmy night? I was watching a DVD of the towering mini-series, Lonesome Dove. It is a great movie and I fear that that we will not see a film like this in a very long time.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Unfortunately, I watched the Emmy's...why?, I'm not sure...I guess to see what everyone was wearing (did I say that out loud?)
Lonesome Dove has to be one of the greatest mini-series ever made...loved it!

Karen also watches for the gowns.

And I...who haven't watched TV in months...watched the last 20 minutes of the show.
I am so out of the TV loop, I didn't know most of the shows that took home awards.
But I was happy to know that I do know a former Emmy Award winner! (add that fact to my memorabilia of having a personal letter or two from a Nobel Peace Prize winner: Elie Wiesel)

I watched the Sunday Night NFL football game....

Note for Pearl.....not to put one of my greatest
heroes, Elie Wiesel, in the same category.....but
Robert, too ...is an Emmy Winner!

Trust me, T.P...that is exactly who Pearl was talking about...but more importantly, what did you wear to the Emmys, Robert, the year that you won?!!!

I completely forgot that the Emmys were on. I was too busy having dinner with my frummie women's martial arts class (anyone need a bodyguard?).
I'd love to hear the story of when Robert received his Emmy - I'm sure that's filled with drama.
Have a good one,
Rachel :)

Rachel:
No drama. I wasn't there. My producing partners, Dustin Hoffman and actress Mimi Rogers accepted for me. I picked up the statue a few days later, drove over to YULA high school to show offspring number 2. She jumped into my arms. We hugged, then she scooted back to class. I went home, put it over the fireplace and there it sits.

That must have felt good. Obviously other things (like your family) are a lot better, but it's still nice. I bow before my friend's whenever I encounter it. ;)
