Muslim Sensitivity

Let's take a look at some cartoons by those who claim that the west is trampling on their religious sensitivities.

I'm looking out my office window and gosh, look at the Jewish street erupting.

Not.

Meanwhile:

A student newspaper has published the cartoons. Yup, a college newspaper has dared what the MSM have not. The Daily Illini from The University of Illinois has shown some guts. Hat tip to Little Green Footballs.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

'Nuff said.

Robert,

This is probably my hot button issue.
When you can so plainly see the danger....yet, everyone wants to sit around over and tut-tut remarks from Hamas and the Iranians.

The cartoons you link to represent the most vile of thinking. I am sure the Wiesenthal Center could show us many cartoons from Nazi Germany that would look almost identical to the ones emanating from Arabia.

Yet liberals want us in the grand tradition of Neville Chamberlain to show sensitivity. I mean, gosh, we must have done something to anger those poor arabs. We have news commentators from CNN and MSNBC tells us its all are fault. If we just didnt provoke them they would leave us alone.

Yet, there is ample evidence that this thinking is fantasy.

All I can add is that it is time to wake up...evil is on the march.....and if we wring our hands....disaster will come.

I might ask, since when are we bound by Islamic law?

I don't go around telling non Jews, heck I don't go around telling other Jews that they have to observe the Sabbath.

Who are these barbarians to demand that we observe some Islamic law that says that their Prophet cannot be depicted?

Excuse me, but keep it in your house. And I thought the MSM was so secular, since when do they show such sensitivity to religion?

Oh, I know, when the religion they are dealing with is helmed by lunatics who are cut throats.

I personally do not understand a religion/philosophy that requires everyone on earth to think and act as they do. It seems like it's an insecurity...that if everyone's not doing it, it (the religion) becomes invalid.

In Judaism we don't require anyone to be like us or join us. Just be a good person and follow the Noahide Laws and all will be good. But they call us the bad evil people. I don't get it.

Rachel:

I do not claim to now anyhting about Islam. I can only judge a religion by people who claim it as their faith. Those who practice Islam publicly are warlike, narrowminded bigots, anti-Semites, Anti-Christian, anti-democracy, anti-female, and those who claim to be moderates are a complete fraud for every other word out of their mouths is: "but..."

These people are insecure narcisssists who look to bully the rest of civilization. Nothing remains but to meet them on the field of battle and stamp them out -- as we did the Germans and the Japanese.

Robert,
Well said. WWIII has begun, globally. Actually it began on the morning of 9-11. How long will the West wait before it embraces your prophetic words? Hope it's not too late.

Danny Bee:

I believe that most of Europe is lost. Gone. Israel and America are the only hope, the only front-line troops. Even Russia, which is fighting Islamic terrorists daily is ready to get into bed with Hamas. The only way America can truly win this war is if the media gets behind it and they won't until they get hit and take real casualties. As long as they continue to live in their ivory towers and sneer at the rest of us, we will be struggling against Al-Jazeera and Al-NY Times. It's a horrible but tragic truth.

In a Mark Steyn column this morning, he comments to a Muslim threat "bring it on"...."we might as well fight in the first ditch as the last ditch". These words are chilling and it sickens me that my first thought was that he was placing himself and in family in danger. But we cannot be cowed as Europe has been cowed. The clash is upon us, I pray we have the strength and courage to meet it.

Suz:

Mark Steyn is a great man. Someone has to say enough is enough. Did you know that no Jew can walk in Paris wearing a yarmulke on his head anymore because he will be assaulted by Muslims? The yarmulke, y'know, offends their religious sensibilities.

Where does it end with these people?

Muslim inmates in a British prison recently claimed that the Union Jack offended them because of the cross on the flag. The British authorities, ever sensitive, lowered the Union Jack.

You know what, Islam as practiced by the nutters offends me! What are we going to do about that!?

Who is being sensitive to Jewish/Christian sensibilities? I am tired of appeasing tyrranical fanatics.

Robert:

Historically, things are no different than they ever were. The people of God are, have been, and will be targets of hate. The heathen actually rage against God. They foolishly believe to fight us is to fight God. Foolishly, because they believe they can win. They will lose.

Suz:

Agree completely.
