Seraphic Reminder

Just a quick reminder, the deadline for submitting your answers for the Seraphic Contest is February 6, Monday morning, 10AM Pacific Time.

I plan on posting the correct answers, so if any of our Seraphic Photo Contributors do not wish your names posted with your pictures, please let me know by e-mail immediately: write to robert.avrech@gmail.com.

Personally, I hope you will all let everyone know who you were as a child. For we were all so young and innocent.

Let's go, folks. Make up your minds.

As Sun Tzu says: In battle, the worst decision is indecision.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

At this rate, according to Sun Tzu, I'd have lost every battle I'd fight in. Indecision is my middle name.

But I have no second thoughts about naming the little girl that I once was.

As Sun Tzu says: In battle, the worst decision is indecision.

Applies to handicapping too.

Pearl:

Not what I saw in your editing work. Thanks so much for your permission.

Posted by: Robert Avrech at February 5, 2006 12:50 PM

Lance:

And I'll bet you have to make some very fast decisions.

Posted by: Robert Avrech at February 5, 2006 12:51 PM

Thanks, Robert. Okay, so 99.9% of the time I'm very indecisive -- just ask Mr. TorontoPearl. Indecision is very crippling not only in battle, but in life.

Mr. TP constantly tries to teach me, too, about "Zrizut"/ Hebrew for "haste." As in, you snooze, you lose. Not a bad lesson...

Robert,

Yes sometimes the decisions need to be made quickly, especially if the race is close to going off.

But, more in the area of having the courage to wager on some of the horses I do.

The #1 Reason to Let Robert Identify Your Photo

(9 more to come, but I have to get to a Super Bowl Party)

1) It's either that or your dental records, and frankly your dental records are more embarrassing

Posted by: Jake at February 5, 2006 02:32 PM

Sorry not to be participating. I don't have any childhood pictures, unfortunately--they're all somewhere in Europe. So I can just pretend I was really cute and did not have buck teeth.

Posted by: Uberimma at February 5, 2006 04:41 PM

Uberimma:

You can still participate in the contest even if you have not submitted a photo. Please know that we here at Seraphic Secret find buck teeth to be uber-cute.

Posted by: Robert J. Avrech at February 5, 2006 05:03 PM

ACK! who is talking about buck teeth??!!?? You found that pic of me at 10 didnt you....waaaaaaaa

PS When will we get the results of the contest?

Posted by: Suz at February 5, 2006 06:09 PM

I mean the Personal Blog contest

Posted by: Suz at February 5, 2006 06:09 PM

Suz:

Seraphic Secret Agents are everywhere –– with phones in the heels of their shoes. And yes, we have located those photos of you and we are waiting for that check from you or we will release those photos on the front page of The Enquirer.

I am told by Karl Rove AKA Lance, AKA Karlance that the results will be announced on Feb 9.

By the way, age is an illusion I firmly believe. Or should I have written ''aging'' is an illusion, I wrinkly believe?

Posted by: DANNY BEE at February 5, 2006 11:07 PM

I like that..."aging is an illusion, I wrinkly believe." I'm all for wrinkles. They express the wisdom and experience a person gains through their lifetime...I think that's a good thing.

Why is Randi called Randi here and Cruisin-mom elsewhere? Same for Pearl/TorontoPearl?

Robert, I've just discovered your blog via PT, and I love it. I read a short blurb about you recently, wish I knew where, and thought, oh, that's interesting, a Real Jew in Hollywood. Then I read your beautiful love story, and realized you must be a bigshot, a famous guy, then I dug a little deeper and decided you must be the guy I didn't pay much attention to because it seemed boring at the time.

Wow, I'm linked in the second degree from a famous Hollywood guy. Wow.

Posted by: Kiwi the Geek at February 6, 2006 03:46 AM

Oh, and if I'd discovered you a week earlier, I woulda voted for you.

Posted by: Kiwi the Geek at February 6, 2006 04:33 AM

Kiwi:
You can call me Pearly
You can call me Pearl
You can call me TP
Or even TorontoPearl

I answer to almost anything
I've been given nicknames galore
And no doubt there's a new one for me out there
That I have yet to explore!

Posted by: Pearl at February 6, 2006 05:44 AM

Hi Kiwi the Geek: My blog name is "Cruisin-Mom", my name is Randi. I blog anonymously (no last name). I won't tell you other things I've been called in my life...but if you want to learn more...come by my blog (one thing you will learn is that I am not afraid of shameless plugs)

Posted by: Randi(cruisin-mom) at February 6, 2006 07:41 AM

Kiwi:

I am boring.

Posted by: Robert Avrech at February 6, 2006 08:27 AM

Oh Robert, sorry I'm late with the coffee...you're always so self-deprecating before your morning mocha.

Completed list below:

Top 10 Reasons to Let Robert Identify Your Photo

10) What do you have to be ashamed of? Remember, at that age your parents were still buying all your clothes.

9) Nobody's believing your threat to torch the Danish embassy if he identifies your picture.

8) Lance is the Karl Rove of this operation... so Bob Novak is going to publish the info anyway.

7) Don't worry, Robert is a devotee of Sun Tzu not the Marquis de Sade!

6) No one will make fun of you... we'll just feel sorry for you.

5) If you don't, the NSA will start spying on your account at Photomat. (NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT)

4) You can trust Robert; he had the decency not to publish those pictures of my bris!

3) We will all understand; you were young, you needed the money, etc.

2) Anyone who's still shy is getting their pictures sent to the "Extreme Makeover" people!

1) It's either that or your dental records, and frankly your dental records are more embarrassing

Randi:

That's okay, I'm grading submissions. Busy, busy, busy. Karen filled in for you.

Posted by: Robert Avrech at February 6, 2006 09:27 AM

Jake:

Number 2, keep your eye on that one for my intro to The Seraphic Reveal.

Jake you are prophetic.

Posted by: Robert Avrech at February 6, 2006 09:29 AM

Robert, of all the things you may be, you are not the least boring. I loved both of the series I read so far: the prison one and the love story. You need a topic list.

Posted by: Kiwi the Geek at February 7, 2006 02:19 AM

Kiwi:

My writing may be compelling, but in person, I'm just an average, boring, middle class man. However, I am glad that my series--prison story, and loving Karen--have captured your interest.

Topic list, do you mean for what I've written, or for the future?

Because there is a list of Seraphic Topics in the Sidebar.
