Swedish Jews -- Your Turn

It's Open Season on Swedish Jews. Hat tip to Little Green Footballs.

Are the oh-so tolerant Swedes so dense as to believe that the Islamic Jihad taking root in their country will only be isolated to the land's 16,000 Jews?

Wait, I forgot, this is the "neutral" country that did business with Nazi Germany during World War II. The "neutral" country that allowed German troops to march through their lands.

Yup, it's just the Swedes being, well, Swedish.

What a shock.

Note to Seraphic Readers: When you read the full story prepare for your jaw to hit the floor. Hard.

Note to Jews in Sweden: Run like hell!

Note to self: Buy more ammo.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

May I suggest Swedish Jews gather their passports.....

and after Pesach...

Contact the local Aliyah office.

Before its too late.

I sent the whole article to everybody on my list, including media. I want to think about what I will write to the Chancellor of 'Justice.' It is truly unbelievable!!

Thank you for the info. My mother's people came from Sweden in the 1870's, and I have watched with discouragement as this people have repeatedly become rabbits in the face of evil.

I am reminded of Strawberry's warren in Watership Down.

Diaspora Voice:

Thanks so much for bringing your fine blog to our attention. I've read a good deal of it and added you to my links.

Personal question. Many years ago I davened, prayed, at an Orthodox synagogue in Stockholm on St. Paul'sgaaten. It was a small morning minyan. I was wondering how that shul is doing?

Chaya:

Unbelievable, depressing and most of all, for me at least, burning rage.

AVI:

When I was touring Scandanavia many years ago, I noticed quite a few Swedish students walking around wearing the Arab kaffiyah as a scarf. I soon realized that this was no fashion statement. Anti Israeli/Jewish feeling was runnning very high in the universities just after the Yom Kippur War. Now, these same students are runnning the country.

Watership Down, great analogy.

Robert, thank you for your nice and friendly comment. (Chaya, if you read this, thanks for the mail, I responded to your above hotmail). The shul, last time i was around there (a couple of years ago,) was still open. The kefyia is still worn by most of Sweden’s leftists (even the former leader for the left party had one in public, where Israel was replaced with “Palestine”).

But It's not only those students that now run the country, there is now influence from the "new" Swedes, with middle eastern flavored last names as well.

Just today, for instance (as usual) Sweden’s largest paper political chief-in-editor Helle Klein publicly cheered on "Go Bassem Nasr " (from center “liberal” party) for publicy speaking up on inviting EU banned terrorists to the third largest city, Malmö, since “And we should not forget that Israel kills innocent civilians in the same degree as Hamas”.

And how did the media in Sweden react to the Muhammed Cartoon affair?

Posted by: Robert Avrech at April 21, 2006 12:46 PM

See chapter: prelude-cartoons
(And after these scandals mentioned, the FM finally had to resign.)

On a day to day basis, I'm no longer shocked when any European country visits another indignity on Jews or on Israel. On a larger scale, I can never get over my shock that, a mere 60 years after the War, "never again" has come back again, and with a startling virulence that is becoming almost voguish.

Bookworm:

Thanks so much for your comment. Isn't it shocking that we're no longer shocked?

On another note, I've been looking at your site and it's wonderful. Do stay in touch with us.
