Keeping Kosher in Saddam's Palace

Lieutenant Junior Grade Laurie Zimmet, United States Navy is in Iraq. She's Jewish, observant and yearns for... well read for yourself.

Thanks to Yehuda Kaplan, one of Ariel's ZT'L best friends, for bringing this wonderful article to my attention.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

This woman is a hero....period.

What an impressive woman...anyone out there single and looking for a gal with great army boots? She deserves to find a wonderful man.
(I bet she makes a great babke, too)

Lance, Randy, Jeremiah:

I'm glad you all enjoyed this story. Let's all hope Laurie finds full happiness very soon. She's obviously a very special young woman.

My wife and I knew Laurie Zimmet way back when she was Dennis Prager's producer. She's truly a great lady. I had no idea about her time in the military. I'm more impressed than ever. We have to catch up with her.

Hey, Robert! I think she'd make a great addition to the shooting trips!

Doctor Bean:

When Laurie gets back, lets definitely get together. I think she might be a little sick of weapons by then. Might I suggest that we try and find her a shidduch!

Shidduch, shooting, whatever!

Doc:

Actually: "Shidduch Shooting!" A new and novel shidduch date. Much more exciting than the lobby of the Biltmore.

Robert: Genius! Getting to know your soulmate while hot spent cartridges bounce on your shoes is an auspicious beginning to a happy life together.

Thus a new business is born.
