The Meathead Proposition
If you live in California it's important that you vote "No" on Proposition 82. The man behind this proposition is none other than Rob Reiner and it truly is a meathead piece of work. Head on over to Bookworm where he eloquently explains why this benign sounding piece of legislation is, in fact, a time bomb waiting to go off.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
This, like the stem cell proposition last time (or was it the time before?) is so depressingly Orwellian in its language. My guess is it passes with overwhelming numbers.

Only the whacked out liberal mind could come up with such nonsense.

Ralphie:
I'm afraid you're probably right. The Democrats have really perfected Orwellian language, and let's be honest, most of their constituency don't even bother reading the propositions. Even if they did, they don't think critically enough to understand the dire implications. They just take it for granted that they are on the side of the angels--when of course this is just another destructive law guaranteed to make California a worse place to live for everyone. Except the Meathead elites who are safe and sound behind the walls of their Malibu compounds.

I've been behind the gates in Malibu... they can't read there either.

I am completely against this, and yes, I'm a "liberal democrat" who actually has the ability to make a decision based on the particular issue at hand.

Randi:
Good for you, Randi. But you know, based on what you've told us about your voting preferences and beliefs (capital punishment, gun rights, Israel, etc.) the past few times, you might as well register as a Republican already:)
