BBC Hires New Mideast Analyst
Police sources admit that Mel Gibson, when being arrested for drunk driving said: "The f**king Jews have caused all the f**cking wars in this world."
Mr. Gibson may be out of work in Hollywood, but he has just received an exclusive offer to be an on-air Mideast analyst at the BBC.
BBC spokesperson James L. Pitt said: "We are very proud that such a distinguished thinker will join our ranks."

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
This only ads to my personal belief that anti-Semitism is a type of mental illness. His words really are not that far off from the deranged essays of Chomsky, Fisk, etc., and his "blame the Jews" attitude is typical in the MSM.

I see what you're saying, but writing this off to mental illness alone is too easy. Look, you can say everything that adults do wrong is due to some kind of mental deficiency. Unless you really are insane, then you're just a bad guy.
One of the weaknesses of good people is the way we react to horrific events. Too often, we say "that guy/those guys must be crazy to do ___." The guy is just evil, period.

I agree with Jake. I believe that evil exists and that most anti-Semites are just evil people. It's not terribly complicated.

Okay, that's a funny post, Robert. I laughed out loud.
I think it's pretty widely known that Mel Gibson is an anti-semite and comes from a line of anti-semites. Not to minimize the Mel-Gibson-Drunk-And-Confirming-His-Beliefs-For-The-Police episode.....

If we don't laugh, we'll just drown in tears. Thanks for writing.

"I believe that evil exists and that most anti-Semites are just evil people. It's not terribly complicated."
I agree. What I meant is that anti-Semitism shares characteristics with mental illness that are very specific: Paranoia, delusion, etc. Lots of anti-Semitic drivel sounds like the rants of paranoid schizophrenics. It's a very particular form of evil.
A couple of years ago, the Atlantic published a piece about chess champion Bobby Fisher, who has clearly lost his mind. Fisher was saying that his storage facility in California had been emptied by Zionists, that Jews controlled the world, and that the Zionists were monitoring him, etc. It was almost funny, because his rants, in many ways, weren't really that much more extreme than Noam Chomsky's - yet it is widely accepted that Fisher is a very sick man.
Go figure.

Noam Chomsky probably told him.
