With Allies Like These Who Needs Enemies

European opposition to American efforts in Iraq is expressed in many little ways. For example, American transports flying badly wounded U.S. troops back to the United States, often ask European air controllers for a more direct flight path through European air space.
This is in order to get the wounded soldier or marine to the American hospital more quickly.
This is particularly useful when the aircraft have been turned into a flying ECU (Emergency Care Unit), and doctors are actually treating the seriously wounded in flight.
The European air controllers rarely allow the direct flight.
It would mean some more work for them, but saying "no" is another way to stick it to those bastards who removed Saddam Hussein from power, and continue to fight Iraqis who want to destroy democracy in Iraq. When the American medical flight reaches American air space, air controllers are quick to give the transports the shortest possible route to its destination. Some of these medical flights are non-stop from Iraq to Texas, where there are several major military hospitals.

Hat Tip: Strategy Page

This should come as no great surprise. When French foreign minister Dominique de Villepin was asked at a press conference in London whether he wished for the United States to win in Iraq, the dapper Frenchman refused to answer.

There could be no better epitaph written for Europe, rapidly crumbling into Eurostan.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

Outrageous. Thank you for pointing that out.

I don't know if I am using this completely correctly, but the Europeans are infandous, as are the Dems and those Republicans who have gone over to the Dark Side of the Force.

I'll enjoy Shabbos because I won't read about the infandous clowns running (ruining?)our country (or, for that matter, the idiots in charge in Israel, who are working on the same "let's surrender" program), these Europeans who are allied with the Islamic Jihadists in their hate...UGH.

You're very welcome.

Maurice:

Infandous, indeed.

That's awful! I don't understand hate like that. I can't imagine being able to override my sense of compassion for a wounded person needing treatment in favor of the momentary joy I would get from denying someone I disliked. I just can't imagine doing that. And I can't understand anyone who would.

Welcome to Eurostan. Take a good look at a dying civilization. It's not often you get to see it happening right before your very eyes.

It's no longer a sad, fringe testament to the mindset of Europe (and the American left). It's proving to be instead a mental illness that has spread wildly.

It's just sick. That's all.

Shayne:

With all due respect, I think that we're letting these people off too lightly by defining their ideology as a mental illness. I believe they have chosen the path of appeasement and defeatism -- and some have deliberately chosen evil.

For example: France, Saddam Hussein's biggest trading partner, and enabler, and whose banks benefited to the tune of billions of dollars in the oil-for-food UN scandal. No surprise there. The French chose the same cowardly path when the majority of the country collaborated with the Nazis during WWII.

One does not need to become hysterical as some commentators seem to have become but there are certainly grounds to be concerned about the present developments.
