The Big (ger) Liars

"Everybody in politics lies, but they [Bill and Hillary Clinton] do it with such ease, it's troubling."

David Geffen, to Maureen Dowd, NY Times, Feb 21, 2007

I read the entire column and just burst out laughing.

Listen, if a Hollywood producer, excuse me, the Hollywood producer, is "troubled" by the Clinton's, um, dishonesty, then let me tell you, it must be off-the-charts.

Watch for the Clinton attack machine, and it is vicious, to go after Barack Obama with true killer instincts. Obama has very little experience in politics; he's in for a reality check.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

She's been called America's Lady Macbeth, and not without reason. The only thing transparent about her, I think, is her level of obfuscation and posturing.

Jeremiah:

Bobby Kennedy once characterized liberals as "suicidal." Welcome to Hollywood politics. Dreadful for America, great for bloggers.

It's already happening. Hilary is demanding that Obama give back the money Geffen raised. I agree with Geffen that Clinton's sexual shenanigans are going to get in Hilary's way. I don't agree with pretty much anything Hilary stands for, but it really irks me that the first serious woman Presidential candidate is likely to have her hopes dashed because her husband has absolutely no self control, let alone respect for his wife and their marriage.

Fern:

I would not be so quick to count Hillary out. Once the Clinton attack machine begins its work on Obama, he will no longer look so pristine. The Clintons have already hired some of the best private operatives in town. The politics of destruction have only just begun.

My wife gave me an article to read from the Hamodia by Rabbi Yehonasan Gefen and I said "Hey, that's the same name of the guy who was dissing the Clintons!" I started telling her the story and she told me to stop. I asked why and she told me that it was just too sad to hear about another Jew who was so far off the Derech...
Just thought I'd offer another take on the whole silly sordid tale of bad Geffen...

Moishe3rd:

David Geffen off the derech?

If Mrs. Moishe3rd only knew.
