True Gore
Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
Truth is, these people don't even believe their own doomsday predictions. It's all just feel-good politics.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Dear Robert,
... yet his bulb remains so dimly lit! Go figure.
I remain,
Very Sincerely Yours,
Alan D. Busch

And what about all the idling limos outside the Kodak Theater for hours and hours and hours? I guess we're supposed to believe they all walked to the theater. My wife and I immediately thought of that when they declared it a "green Oscars." Then we feel back to sleep.

I was watching Bill Maher's show on HBO the other night. Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, was one of the guests. They started talking about global warming, and the importance of going green, blah blah blah.
I'm listening to this self-righteous blather and wondering if any of these folks are willing to give up their multiple homes, flying on Gulfstream, their cars, their yachts, the lavish parties, and their generally affluent, privileged lifestyle. The answer is obviously, no. Going green is something they preach. . . to others.

Carly Fiorina is actually a big Republican... so maybe she's not a hypocrite.

Dear Robert,

Limos, BH mansions, private jets, homes in Aspen and Biarritz—so full of, ahem green.

I found my way here through a link from the Gathering Storm. What a good blog. I especially like the Seraphic Rules.
Who am I? I am a Buddhist Christian from the South. The blood of my ancestors, european, Cherokee and African, was shed for right to practice my religion without persecution and for the right of each individual to be equal before the laws of the land, based on theTenCommandments. As their descendant, I value these freedoms and have vowed to protect them.
I have worked in many jobs, mostly in the biz and a few other bizarre places. I'm married to a wonderful man the Rabbi calls eccentric and brilliant. I love to toot his horn cause he won't. We have two daughters, both far away, and three, almost four grandchildren (the first boy is due in June). They are precious to me
Our life changed after 9/11 and everything changed. That's how I got to Seraphic Secret.
I feel a bond with Jews and the Nation of Israel. That is why I am writing this instead of working. When I was young, my father worked for two Jewish brothers who became his friends as well as bosses. When he was stricken with Alzheimers, they took care of my family, "Don't you worry Toots," they told my mother and they meant it. This is a debt I'm finally able to repay.
I just saw a clip of Bill Maher with Ayaan Ali Hirsi, Congressman Issa from CA (soundly put in his place by Ayaan) and some actor talking about Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Sorry I don't have the link.
Robert, I hope your projects are successful.
May your suffering cease, may your happiness increase.

Joanna:
Welcome to Seraphic Secret. We are delighted to hear your voice. Thanks so much for your support of Israel.
I too saw the segment with that fine woman Ayaan Ali Hirsi. What dignity, courage and knowledge she projected as opposed to the supercilious foolishness of Bill Maher and Issa.
Thanks so much for your kind words of comfort.
We look forward to more of your comments.

Robert, how are you? Have you been busy? Good. I read the article at http://www.shamrak.com/ and thought to send it to you. It has some sobering facts and thoughtful comments.
I don't agree entirely with the last passage on islam. I don't blame the muslims. I think it is the fault of their foundational texts that they adhere to and the lack of the existance of a Golden Rule in their religious, political and cultural life. BTW, how do I make paragraphs?
May your suffering cease,
may your happiness increase
for both you and your wife.
