Quick Cuts or Robert Goes ADD
Authorities just defused a huge and viable terrorist bomb in London. This comes after Tony Blair leaves office and an anti-Iraq war government moves into 10 Downing Street.
Can anyone spell: Neville Chamberlain?
What else?
An ex-Gitmo detainee has been shot down by Russian FSB, near Chechnya. I'll bet the ACLU is preparing a case at this very moment. The chutzpah of those mean Russians to kill a peace-loving detainee.
What else?
The Abu Sayaaf, a small but truly lunatic and deadly Muslim terrorist group in the Philippines has appointed, get this, a Syrian trained Islamic Scholar, as its new leader. Three cheers for the learned cut-throat, Yasser Igasan.
You want more?
Hizbullah, really Iran, are busy little beavers preparing for war. Those U.N. troops Tzipi Livni was so hot to put in place? Well, they are, surprise, less than useless—and, duh, French. Hizbullah have built up their positions north of the Litani River, with intricate and powerful bunkers. Ehud Olmert has said that Israel's security on the Lebanon border is now historically better than ever before. This is an infamous lie. Olmert is the most incompetent and corrupt leader of Israel in her entire history. It is a national disgrace that Olmert is still Prime Minister.
Speaking of national disgraces: The Democrats at Howard University.
Talk about a panderfest. The only people who spend more time talking about race are the Ku Klux Klan. Edwards, Obama, Clinton: people running for President of these United States.
1. Not one word about national security.
2. Not one word about Islamic Terrorism.
3. Not one word about world-wide Jihad.
You wanna hear the really funny part? They slammed the Supreme Court for it's decision against school race-based preferences.
The Democrats called for integration.
Howard University is, hellooo, all black.
The only way the Democrats can get in office and stay there is by keeping blacks down on the plantation. And Liberal, um, excuse me, Progressive Jews who are in the power structure of the Democratic party are some of the worst offenders, essentially a bunch of rascists bent on convincing blacks that without the largesse of their greater wisdom, blacks are too dumb, too downtrodden by The Man, to get anywhere by themselves.
Let's talk about guns.
Seraphic Friend John at that great Mil Blog Op For just sent this over to me. Here's a man who understands that only he is responsible for his own life. This is why those dopey do-gooders who want to ban weapons are, well, evil.
Let's check out my backyard, Hollywood:
A Mighty Heart is a mighty bomb at the box office and I think I know why: it gives a Mighty Pass to Terrorism. The fact is that Americans can smell fraud a mile away. They don't want some fuzzy, feel good, multi-cultural clap-trap approach to Arab/Muslim terrorism They want to fight the jihadists. They want to kill the bastards.
Hat Tip: Seraphic Chaver Joel Weisz for the film review.
My good friend Toronto Pearl sends word of a film I'm actually looking forward to seeing:
You know, I haven't put up a Jane Austen quote in a long time. So, it's time. Here's some down to earth advice for widows from Mansfield Park.
She consoled herself for the loss of her husband by considering that she could do very well without him.
By the way, Mansfield Park is probably Jane's least popular book. I know some people who absolutely hate it. As for me, I'm parve on this volume.
Jane Austen sipped tea. So does Karen. Not your humble scribe.
I don't do this very often, kitchen stuff, I mean, but when it comes to coffee, well, that's something I feel strongly about. Karen makes coffee for me in a cold brew, a Toddy, and it is the best coffee in the world. I cannot drink anything else. Really, I taste Starbucks, and feh, it's soooo acidic: people actually pay for such stuff?
Anywhoo, Offspring #2 just shot me an article from The N.Y. Times. Normally, half of what that paper prints is lies and the other half isn't true—but this article is, well, short, sweet, and just right.
Karen comments: “The article only talks about the Toddy for ice-coffee, it should discuss the Toddy for all coffee.”
You see, I'm married to the perfect woman; she even finds fault with the N.Y. Times when yours truly does not.
Okay, time for some shameless self-promotion:
Soccer Dad nominated my article The Rupture to Watcher of Weasels Council (don't ask) and what do you know, it won in the non-member category. I'd like to thank The Watcher of Weasels, Soccer Dad, my agent, my manager, my wife, my Girlses, Akira Kurosaw, and of course: Gong Li.
My fortress in New York, Jason Maoz, has even seen fit print The Rupture in The Jewish Press.
What else, let's see, iM racking my ibrain.
Oh, yeah.
iSn't today the day some new electronic product iS going to be released?
iThink iNeed iNtervention.
Karen and I wish all our Seraphic friend a lovely and meaningful Shabbos.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Robert
Agreed, Olmert is the worst PM this country has ever seen!!
Livni is a Condyloma Rice wanna be.
However, elections are around the corner and g-d willing Bibi can restore our national pride.
But as I have clearly stated previously once the Right takes power the Israeli economy will take a serious hit.
I'm mighty happy that Mighty Heart flopped.
Couldn't you have written something a little less hollywood in honor of Pearl?
Posted by: David at June 29, 2007 12:58 PM
David:
When Bibi is elected, much needed economic reforms must be put in place, and yes there will be short-term pain, but long-term benefits. That's the price quasi-socialist economies pay for their destructive Marxist ideology.
Yes, I could and would have written a far better script.
Have a lovely and meaningful iShabbos.

The cold-brew system looks like a good idea for making tea on Shabbos.

I like the "quick cuts" approach to blogging. Gives me a little info about a lot of topics, unlike me who likes to ramble on and on, unaccustomed to brevity and shorthand and ....
Wishing Casa Avrech a good Shabbos.

A Mighty Heart is a mighty bomb at the box office and I think I know why: it gives a Mighty Pass to Terrorism.
Yes, and I'll bet the film rights prevent anybody from making a REAL documentary or dramatization of what happened, just like the film version of "Bonfire of the Vanities" was turned into third-rate vanilla pudding.
Posted by: Solomon2 at June 29, 2007 03:28 PM
Solomon:
Daniel Pearl is a public figure, hence anyone can make a documentary about his life and death—using public and some private files and records, and whomever wishes to cooperate and sign waivers.

True, but I wonder if folks might be scared off from making a competing account by the threat of lawsuits - it can be debated whether his wife and other characters in the film are public figures. In my mind, the purpose of this film is propaganda not profit, and such a move would fit right in.
And the "public figure" argument is kind of weak. I recall that Hillary Clinton has tried to restrict publication of at least one of her speeches (at American University a few years ago, I think) on the grounds that it was proprietary, even though she is a public figure.
Shabbes approaches, gotta go...

Just a word in defense of Neville Chamberlain: when he saw that he screwed up, he had contrition, and then he died. All within a year, I think. And he was a patriot.
To call 2007 Democrats "Neville Chamberlains" is an insult to a bygone, but nobler era.

Real Name:
It is very true that Chamberlain was contrite once he saw what he had wrought. This, however does not excuse his vast mistakes. No question he was a patriot. Let us also remind everyone that you are quite right, leaving office Chamberlain was gravely ill with cancer and Churchill, truly kind and generous, allowed the sick old man to live out his days in 10 Downing Street. Those were nobler days with far greater men than we shall ever see.

Robert,
Above all else I would like to offer you my heartfelt sympathy on your loss - I cannot begin to imagine how I would feel if I were to lose my son.
Anyway, on to my point...
I came across your site whilst searching for information about the IRA training in the Bekka valley.
As an ex-British Nationalist (not (Neo) Nazi although I associated (then) with many) I must say how saddened I am to see your site promoting the same "we're superior" attitude that they do.
Whilst I suspect that you will delete my post I will check back in case you don't so that I can answer any comments.
Posted by: TonyB at June 29, 2007 05:25 PM
Tony B:
The only attitude we promote is this:
1. Evil exists.
2. It must be accurately identified.
3. It must never be excused.
4. Evil must be fought and defeated.
I plead guilty that we do promote the notion that good is superior over evil, that western civilization is worth fighting for against the barbarisms of jihad.
The IRA did, indeed train in the Bekka Valley during the early and mid-70's with various other terrorist groups including the Baader-Meinhof gang, and The Japanese Red Army. There was a great deal of tension with the Muslim Arab terrorists as the IRA lads liked their liquor and jollies; and the Muslims most definitely did not. There were several "disagreements" and finally the IRA's were told to get out of Dodge or have their heads handed to them—literally.

Actually, I'd say that Barak was the worst PM, but Olmert is the most dangerous, since Olmert is still in power, even after what he has done.
Posted by: muse at July 1, 2007 07:52 PM
Shiloh:
Barak was a complete disaster. Olmert is a complete disaster. Barak is now waiting in the wings for the government to fall so he can be the default choice of Labor and the Suicide Now lefties who have no connection to social, religious, political or military reality. It's not enough that Gaza has been transformed into a forward base for Iranian offensive operations. Now the Israeli left, in lock-step with Hamas and Hizbullah, are determined to hand over Judea, Samaria—oh and let's not forget, major portions of Jerusalem.
