Hamas Thanks the Israeli Left for Help in Killing Jews
How many lives have left-wing statements cost Israel? In a damning condemnation of the Israeli left, a new book about the battles known as the Oslo War quotes Hamas leaders saying that the behavior of Israel's left-wing encourages them to continue their terrorist attacks.
The book, The Seventh War, by journalists Avi Yisacharov of Voice of Israel Radio and Amos Harel of Haaretz, is based on comprehensive investigations and interviews with Hamas terrorist leaders in Gaza and Israeli prisons.
Yisacharov told Channel 1 Television yesterday that Hamas leaders had told him clearly: "It was the Israeli left and your peace camp that ultimately encouraged us to continue with our suicide attacks."
Yisacharov said he was told as follows:
"We tried, through our attacks, to create fragmentation and dissention within Israeli society, and the left-wing's reaction was proof that this was indeed the right approach. When we heard about the 'Pilots' Letter' [written and publicized last year by 27 Israel Air Force pilots who refused to take part in bombing missions against terrorist leaders in Arab towns], and the elite soldiers who refused to serve [in Judea, Samaria and Gaza], it strengthened those in our camp who promoted the idea of suicide bombers...
"The disengagement from Gaza is proof of our victory. The fact is that Sharon is willing to withdraw unconditionally, and is essentially raising a white flag and retreating. Only by force can we teach the other side what to do."
Original article in Arutz Sheva.
The Seventh War has not yet been translated into English.
Look for the Israeli left to initiate a campaign of character assassination aimed at the authors of the book. Look for the Israeli left to question the veracity of the interviews. They will say things like: “Since when do we believe what Hamas has to say?” Look for the Israeli left to claim that the interviews are actually a clever disinformation campaign designed to create further fractures in Israeli society. Look for the Israeli left to do what they always do: agitate for even further appeasement to the Arabs. Look for the Israeli left to do anything but face up to realty.
Remember, being on the left means never having to say you're sorry.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Robert,
I've often wondered about the impact of the Israel left, both in Israel and the U.S. I'm sure you could say the same thing, as well, about the left in general. And you could certainly say the same thing about the Democratic Congress, in particular, in respect to Iraq. Isn't it funny how some Democratic presidential candidates are now starting to talk tough?

Robert I just stopped by because I saw Netanyahu is on the move just as you foretold many months ago. I dont have the time to look up your post but you said that the Prime Ministers rotate and its time for Bebe to step up and handle the mess the others have created ( I paraphrase of course). I dont have as much time to surf as I once did but I pop in and keep an eye on you guys. May God bless. Suz

David:
The left in Israel enable Arab terrorists in a very direct way to kill Jews and threaten Israel's national existence. The cause and effect, time and again, is quite clear. If Gaza has not convinced the left of the folly of appeasement, nothing will.
And you know what, it has not, and nothing will.
Like true Communists, the left lives by inflated theories; they have no connection to political or physical reality; thus they never take into account, nor take responsibility for real-world consequenses. They always fall back on the same shop-worn excuse: "Well if you had only followed our original political platform none of this ever would have happened."
Clever little comrades; that's how millions perish in gulags, and no one takes responsibility, no one feels guilty. That's how appeasement marches on and homicide bombers are the direct result, but the left does not make the obvious connection.
The line in the sand is forever being moved one step back, one step back, one step back.
This is of course the politics of convenience, the politics of cowards, the politics of mass murderers, the politics of the amoral — the politics of the left.

Suz:
Here's my prediction:
Olmert and Co. are toast. Most sane Israelis understand that the Arabs are in the grip of jihad fever, mad to annihilate Israel, destroy the west. Policies of appeasement are suicidal. This is the time to retrench, show the Arabs that Israel has not lost the will to fight, to kill as many Arabs as it takes.
The next Prime Minister of Israel will be from Likud, Bibi.
Olmert will go down as the most wretched leader in Jewish history.

yep, that's the way I see it too. I pray for the safety of Jerusalem and give thanks for such men who rise up to protect Israel.

Robert-
Israel faces the same problem that we face here in the USA: the enemy within, i.e., the left-wing appeaseniks, who are anti-patriotism, anti-religion, anti-God, anti-morality, but who are obsessed with the imaginary dangers of global warming and who are devoted to the rights and preservation of the gay, lesbian and transgender members of the community.

Daniel:
The irony is that the left, who are obsessed with gay rights, and gays who openly support Hizbullah, are prime targets of jihadists. Homosexuals are fiercely oppressed in all Muslim countries; in fact Iran has publicly executed several homosexuals just this year. The only country in the Middle East that protects the civil rights of homosexuals is, yup, Israel.
But do these uncomfortable facts get in the way of leftist ideology?
They do not.
Jew-hatred at work.
