Seraphic Offspring in D.C. for Shabbos
We don't do this very often but: Offspring #3 is in Washington D.C this Shabbos with Camp Morasha. My daughter, counselor to sixteen spirited young ladies have just returned from a trip to Parris Island—
“No Daddy, I'm not going to sign up for the Marines, not a Manolo Blahnik in sight, duh!”
— will be davening with The National Synagogue, previously Congregation Ohev Shalom. If any of our readers would be so kind as to greet our daughter with a Good Shabbos, Karen and I would greatly appreciate it.
Just seek out Seraphic Secret Offspring #3.
Karen and I wish all our friends a lovely and meaningful Shabbos.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Ohev Shalom now calls itself "The National Synagogue" and is located just inside D.C., across the border from Silver Spring (not Silver Springs).

Thanks so much for the multiple corrections. Offspring #3, as you can tell, had no idea where she was after Parris Island. Have a Good Shabbos.

She probably doesn't remember much of anything else. I know my stay at Parris Island in 1991, was a bit overwhelming. Then again, I was there for 13 weeks and left with the title "Marine." ;)

Melissa:
Offspring #3 remembers much grunting, much hoo-haa!, much sweat, and many, um, ill-fitting uniforms.
"Daddy, they really need some serious wardrobe people in the Marines."
"I don't think fashion is a priority, dear."
"Well, it should be."
Anyway, Offspring was at Parris for a day and left extremely impressed :)

That's only because Marines don't work in their dress blues on a daily basis. She can't say THOSE are ill fitting. ;)

Melissa:
No, she did not see the really cool dress blues. But she also says that you don't get to wear those awesome red-soled Christian Laboutain stilletos on parade.
She's got you there!
