The Fate of Iranian Jews
Fascinating article about the Jews of Persia.
"I can tell you, based both on personal experience and on what I hear from friends, that there are places [in Iran] where Muslims have already divided among themselves the homes and property of their Jewish neighbors. They say that if there will be a war, the first thing they will do is slaughter the Jews."

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
I am afraid for Jews who stay in Iran. It's like putting a baby in a room full of pitbulls.

I don't understand how they could have remained there all this time. They could have gotten out long ago.
What type of religious life do they have there?

The Jews of Persia are in a difficult position. If they try to emigrate all their wealth stolen.
As for their religious life, well, they keep a very low profile and do not challenge the power of Islam.
They are also defacto hostages in case of an Israeli raid. It is understood that they wiil be singled out and accused of being Zionist spies.
There will be mass arrests of Jewish community leaders, confessions under torture and then public hangings.
The writing is on the wall for the Jews of Persia.
