General Pershing Fights Jihadists
General John J. Pershing fought Muslim insurgents in the Philippines before World War I. His methods were politically incorrect, but quite effective.
Today, he'd be hammmered ruthlessly by the press, court martialed, and thrown in the brig for G-d knows how long. But keep in mind that "Pershing is the only person, while still alive, to rise to the highest rank ever held in the United States Army—General of the Armies—equivalent only to the posthumous rank of George Washington."
I guess Pershing was doing something right.
One important thing to remember is that Muslims detest pork because they believe pigs are filthy animals. Some of them simply refuse to eat it, while others won’t even touch pigs at all, nor any of their by-products. To them, eating or touching a pig, its meat, its blood, etc., is to be instantly barred from paradise and doomed to hell.
Just before World War I, there were a number of terrorist attacks against the United States and it’s interests by, you guessed it, Muslim extremists.
So General Pershing captured 50 of the terrorists and had them tied to posts execution style. He then had his men bring in two pigs and slaughter them in front of the, now horrified, terrorists.
The soldiers then soaked their bullets in pigs blood, and proceeded to execute 49 of the terrorists by firing squad.
The soldiers then dug a big hole, dumped in the terrorist’s bodies and covered them in pig blood, entrails, etc.
They let the 50th man go. And for about the next 42 years, there was not a single attack by a Muslim fanatic anywhere in the world.

Could you imagine the howling if an American General would use such tactics today??
The NY Times would spill buckets of ink and kill forests crying outrage....
MSNBC, with America bashing hosts like Olbermann and Mathews would be screaming for watergate like investigations....
Yet....as this example shows....to fight an enemy that will show us no mercy....sometimes it is necessary to use extreme measures.
It is either them.....or us....
I want leaders, unlike the weak willed that we are cursed with, to fight to win....no matter what it takes.

I've seen something similar about someone else. When that happens I get suspicious. Snopes says that this story is unverified (but not proven false.) I could do without the lecture from the Snopes folks though.
In 1996 then PM Shimon Peres agreed to release the bodies of some terrorists to Arafat. Right afterwards, PA enabled Hamas terrorist struck Israel 4 times in a little more than a week.
There probably is something to this, but the Pershing case might be overstating it.

SC: The point to me is more about the 49 summary executions than the pig. What's needed is some ruthlessness, and our leaders don't have it.

i think i heard something like this during the iraq-iran war,
where iran wanted to discourage suicide bombers,
and gave them a similar anti-paradise burial
(i have no sources, though)
it might be interesting to start some new rumors, and see what happens:
'American ordnance now processing all ammunition with porcine product indelible coatings'
'Israeli Special Forces release atomized porcine blood particles into airspace of all areas within biblical borders'
maybe this simple tactical approach might remove Muslim extremists form Israeli lands ...
