Saudi Marriage Expert: How to Beat Your Wife
Let's see, America has Dr. Phil and Oprah, and the Arab world has "Dr." Muhammad Al-Arifi.
We have our culture and they have their culture.
Who are we to say that we are civilized and they are barbarians.
Anyway, sit back, relax, prepare for some unique relationship advice, and find out how to, um, beat your wife.
He's Saudi author and cleric, "Dr." Muhammad Al-'Arifi, who in a remarkable segment broadcast on Saudi and Kuwaiti television in September, counseled young Muslim men on how to treat their wives.
"Admonish them—once, twice, three times, four times, ten times," he advised. "If this doesn't help, refuse to share their beds."
And if that doesn't work?
"Beat them," one of his three young advisees responded.
"That's right," Al-'Arifi said.Click here to view the segment at MEMRITV.org
He goes on to calmly explain to the young men that hitting their future wives in the face is a no-no.
"Beating in the face is forbidden, even when it comes to animals," he explained. "Even if you want your camel or donkey to start walking, you are not allowed to beat it in the face. If this is true for animals, it is all the more true when it comes to humans. So beatings should be light and not in the face."

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
The NY Times archive is now free going back to 1987, so the whole article isn't available however, the preview is priceless.

Soccer Dad:
Thanks so much for the link. That's an old article, before 9-11, when the NY Times was not yet shilling for jihadists.

That reads like something out of The Onion. But, no, it's Fox News. Amazing.
I know there are good and decent Muslims who are as offended by this as I am. However, they aren't making a terribly good case that is they, rather than the folks in the story, who represent the mainstream of Islam.

Kent:
We anxiously wait for moderate Muslims to come out in meaningful numbers and denounce this "marital advice."
It's significant to note that this comes from Saudi TV which is, as you know, state controlled, and everything that appears is officially approved by the Wahaabi religious authorities, hence it gets the seal of approval of the House of Saud.
It should be further noted that almost all the new mosques being financed and built in England, France and all of Western Europe are financed by the Saudis.
It should be also noted that Saudi petro-dollars are pouring into our America universities: Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Barnard, etc., specifically into their Middle Eastern Studies Departments, fig leafs for academic Jew-hatred.
Before you know it, "Dr." Muhammad will get tenure at Columbia.

Thank you for allowing me into your "Home". I shall refrain from Profanity even though this "Doctor" brings a rainbow of phrases to mind.
Aaagh, I can't do my feelings about this "fellow" without dishonoring your "Home".
Suffice to say that He is in need of being taken to task. With a stick, "no larger than your thumb", himself.
Thank you for posting on this. I shall continue, MY way, at my "Home"
In Honor,
Wollf

Great Advice!
I'll show this to my misbehaving wife, and as soon as I get out of the resulting trip to the hospital, I'll see if she'll let me implement it.
Thanks!
PS: Barbarians.

Reading stuff like this really breaks my heart. Those are my sisters and they are slaves. No nation that treats women like this will prosper in the end. Totally sickening.

And Robert, the 'Dr.' would get tenure at Columbia in the Women's Studies Dept. I mean afterall, they are open to examining ALL sides of an issue. No area of exploration and questioning is off limits.

Muhammad Al-Arifi is fortunate not to know my wife. Her motto regarding domestic violence: "Everybody sleeps."
As you might guess, we have a very cordial marriage, and make decisions at home as partners. She lets me be in charge at work.
