Hollywood Kool-Aid
“I've got a hot political tip for you.”
“I'm listening.”
“What would you say if I told you I have proof that a prominent Republican politician belongs to an organization that just honored a vicious racist.”
I'm sitting in a Beverly Hills restaurant with a Hollywood producer, a close friend who is a moderate Democrat but also a proud Jew and Zionist. Believe me, he's a rare species in Hollywood.
My friend leans forward and narrows his eyes.
“Robert, I'd say lynch the bastard.”
“Excellent.”
“Who is it?”
“Barak Obama.”
My friend visibly deflates.
“Hey, Obama belongs to a Church that honored Louis Farrakhan, an out and out Jew-hater. Is that okay?”
“That was a mean trap you set for me.”
I hold out my hands as if checking for rain.
“I repeat: Is that okay?”
“Of course not.”
“Tell me, how many of our Jewish friends here in Hollywood just voted for Obama?”
“Tons.”
“Why?”
My friend chuckles: “C'mon, you know.”
I do know.
“Race trumps gender, right?” I say.
“Every time.”
“They like the idea of voting for a black guy, well, half black, right, let's be accurate. If this was a Douglas Sirk movie it'd be a big plot point and Barak would be all tortured and yearning for Dorothy Malone and telling her that he's, y'know, sun-sensitive.”
“Yeah, the black thing definitely plays in Hollywood, and of course the anti-war thing. That's huge. Hollywood is anti-war.”
“True. And Obama did say that he'd get together with all the Muslim world leaders to hear their concerns, I'll bet that plays well in in the biz.”
My friend sips his Perrier.
“Oh yeah, they love that multi-cultural yadda-yadda.”
“You know what the concerns of the Muslims leaders of the world are? To destroy Israel, to kill Jews and, let me point out, to eliminate the Zionist Hollywood Studios. We're talking about genocidal regimes like Sudan, Chad, Syria, Iran, Gaza, need I continue?”
“I'm on your side. I voted for Hillary.”
“Can you imagine Obama head-on with the Iranians? They'd eat him alive. Forget the Iranians, he's not even tough enough to negotiate with the studio heads in this town. He'd fold like a cheap suit. He's not tough, he's not ruthless. He does not understand geo-politics nor the jihadist threat. Democrats project their personal desires on his smooth blankness. As for Israel, he'd abandon the Jewish State faster than David Duke, that's so obvious.”
“The thing is, Robert, Jews in Hollywood don't really think about Israel, don't really think about their Jewishness.”
“What do they think about?”
“The next job.”
“Ah.”
“It's all about agreeing with the idiot who can hand you your next gig. That's all. The pressure is from the extreme left. It's enormous and it takes tremendous inner resolve and a fair amount of knowledge to resist. Not many Jews in Hollywood are up to the challenge.”
“Do you realize that John McCain spent more time in captivity being tortured by the North Vietnamese than Barak Obama has been in the Senate?”
“Hey, Democrats want change.” My friend claws quote marks in the air.
“Change what, their diapers?”
The waitress, a sleek and gorgeous out-of-work actress, appears at our table.
“Something to drink, gentlemen?”
I say: “I'll have the Kool-Aid.”

Pop Quiz. Who said the following and to whom?
Whoever Breaks the Border Will Have His Legs Broken.
1. Israel to Arabs.
2. America to Mexico.
3. Egypt to Gaza
4. Florida to Cuba.
If you answered #3 then you have an IQ above the double digits.
We wait for Peace Now and all the, ahem, human rights groups in Israel to protest, along with the U.N. to pass some really stiff resolutions against the totalitarian regime of Egypt.
Uh-huh.
Vote to Save Jerusalem
The Archbishop of Canterbury Advocates Sharia for Great Britain. Once religious institutions surrender to the jihadists, the next to fall is the secular culture. Seraphic Secret holds out no hope for the once mighty British people, now tragically a mob of appeasers, and we urge the Jews of the British Isles to exit as quickly as possible. Joshua Pundit comments on this suicidal embrace of dhimmitude.
We should not be surprised. The Archbishop of Canterbury has a history of anti-Israeli, morally blind thinking. The man's a fool.
And if you don't think Britain is in terminal trouble take a look at this poll.
Baby Girl and Sister Injured in Qassam Attacks. Once again, we anxiously wait for Peace Now and all the oh-so sensitive leftist, so-called human rights groups in Israel to raise their voices in protest against these war crimes.
What's that we hear?
Oh, right: Crickets chirping.
Iran: Chop Off Bush's Head. I'll bet Columbia University invites this blood-thirsty Ayatollah to their campus for some good old fashioned multi-cultural dialog. And while we're at it, let's allow these lunatics to go nuclear, what could possibly go wrong?
The “Moderate” Palestinian Authority Celebrates the Dimona Homicide Bombers as Holy Martyrs. And Olmert is negotiating with Mahmoud Abbas, this blood-soaked terrorist. Seraphic Secret wonders what message this sends to the Arab world? We also wonder what message it sends to Jewish victims—past and future.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
“That was a mean trap you set for me.”
See? A meany. Definitely.

Anyway, his response that he voted for Hillary doesn't work, now that her connection to the anti-Semitic filmmaker Mehmet (?) has come to light.

What's worse I discovered in this sympathetic article it wasn't just that the preacher turned out to be a Farrakhan/Qaddafi fan; Sen. Obama sought out this guy. He wanted what what the Rev. Wright was selling.

I love it--"race trumps gender". Not that it matters, they are going to end up running together anyway. The only question is who'll be on top.

Well, Melanie will only say nice things about me. I gave her two really great roles. And the first, Body Double, made her a bankable star in Hollywood. And the second, A Stranger Among Us, was practically her only feature where she was not required to take off her clothing, which was, she told me, a great relief.

Hollywood is obsessed with race. They're stuck back in the 60's. I'm not kidding. They're stuck in the Vietnam war, and the Civil Rights movement.
Thus they refuse to recognize the true danger facing civilization: Islamic jihadists.
They bury themselves in feel-good multi-culturalism. In the long run, a surrender to sharia.
Feminism is, well, kinda dopey in such a highly sexualized culture like Hollywood. I mean, c'mon, women make tons of money in the film business, always have. Smart women and beautiful women both have an edge in this town.
So yes, race crushes gender in La-La land.

Obama is a problematic candidate for many reasons. At this point, I would say that his best selling point is that it appears he tells the truth with decent regularity. Although that was a big selling point for Jimmy Carter and we know how that turned out, (incidentally, Carter lied a lot too... especially when it came to covering up for his brother Billy and the Libyans, but that's another story).
Obama desperately needs to craft a team that has credibility when it comes to foreign policy and Jihad. It's really a long shot that he will, but sometimes the Democrats see the writing on the wall and appoint de facto Republicans to National Security positions like when Clinton made William Cohen the Secy. of Defense.
I'm not publicly supporting any candidate yet, and right now I would probably vote for McCain, but I do know that nothing Hillary Clinton says is true. And for someone who lies so frequently, she sure doesn't do it very well. If she loses the Democratic nomination, it will be because people just couldn't take listening to her anymore.

there just isn't anyone to really choose from
there must be a problem when even Ann Coulter goes for Hillary ;-)
in Ann's words:
" ... If Hillary is elected president, we'll have a four-year disaster, with Republicans ferociously opposing her, followed by Republicans zooming back into power, as we did in 1980 and 1994, and 2000. (I also predict more Oval Office incidents with female interns.)
If McCain is elected president, we'll have a four-year disaster, with the Republicans in Congress co-opted by "our" president, followed by 30 years of Democratic rule. ..."
the only consolation is,
that both Hillary and McCain, are at least better than Olmert ...

Zionists want jews to migrate to Israel. Therefor it makes sense to encourage the perception that Europe is unsafe for jews. This perception is largely false. This is the motivation behind the absurd and increasingly dillusional comments about muslims taking over Europe.

It was only a matter of time before Ted revealed his true colors. We knew his, ahem, impartial label was a mask for the crudest form of Jew-hatred. With creatures like Ted, a virus in the heart of Europe, it is more than reasonable for Jews to emigrate as quickly as possible. And of course Israel is the Jewish homeland. Just 60 years ago we witnessed the unspeakable barbarities the oh-so civilized Europeans were capable of doing to their Jewish minority. Now, in alliance with a growing anti-Jewish Arab/Muslim population, the forces of Jew-hatred in Europe are growing, sometimes under the polite fig-leaf of anti-Zionism, but increasingly just out and out jihadist Jew-hatred.

I am not a "jew hater". My jewish friend know it. My conservative jewish friends know it. my conservative israeli friends know it. So I am not too concerned about what you think. But I am offended. I think there is nothing more vile than an anti semite. For you to conclude that I hate jews just because I think the idea of islamic jihadists taking over Europe is a fantasy is totally outrageous. Your world view is very simple Robert. You seem to think there are only two types of people in the world, staunch zionists and anti semites, well I am neither. gotta go, will be back in few hours.

I am not a "jew hater". My jewish friend know it.
Look, Ted, I don't know whether you're anti-Semitic or not, but just so you know, the "some of my best friends are Jews" line is so common a trope of anti-Semites that it's become a cliche.

I am concerned about Obama and islam. I'm not going to say he _is_ muslim, but his connections to them are many and strong.
He also has an advisor that is _very_ anti-semitic...I don't remember the name, but I'll try to ferret it out and post it. You probably already know it....let's see...American Thinker had a number of articles on Obama - I think it was there.

I agree with you that its cliche, thats why I followed up my statement with, "conservative Israeli friends" know im not an anti semite. And Im not making it up. I have many right wing Israeli friends and I have been to Israel before. But this is the first time I have been called an anti semite. Frankly, I think I have been called it because Robert is not a very good at debating. What I said, and what I totally stand by, is that Israeli supporters whom wish to see greater jewish migration to Israel tend to exaggerate the danger that european jews are currently facing. Unfortunately, rather than respond to my point, Robert attempted to kill the debate by saying I hate jews.
Exdemexlib
Thanks for the churchill quote, I know it wasnt directed at me but I take great encouragement from it.
Gregg
"What do you think this is all about if not European Anti-semitism"
I agree that many Europeans hide hostile feelings toward jews in anti Israeli politics. I have been agruing this in my country for quite a while now. I suspect the archbishop (although I cannot confirm) is probably such a person and if so, he and those like him should be confronted and exposed. I do however believe that Israel is largely misunderstood in Europe and Europe is largely misunderstood in Israel and this to answer your question Greg is why there is so much hostility between Israels supporters and europe right now .
Not all Europeans that constantly criticise Israel are anti semites, some are just badly informed and others simply percieve the conflict differently than you do.
The answer; more civil dialogue and understanding between Europe and Israel and less of this fiction about European civilisation coming to an end.
Posted by: Ted at February 8, 2008 04:30 PM
Ted:
The link I posted makes no mention of Israel!
Italin Jewish Scholars were being blacklisted solely for being Jewish not because Israel is in conflict with the Palestinians!!!
This is antisemitism in its purest form!!! Trying to confound every act of anti-semitism with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a very neat trick. But of course we Jooz aren't as dumb as you might think we are.
I agreee that Europeans pereive the Israeli-Arab conflict differently than I do, but how many europeans perceive the conflict in Israeli terms.
The conflict in Israel is a fantastic excuse for antisemites to raise their viscious heads and spew forth venom against Jews.
Ted the bottom line is that even without the Israeli -Arab conflict antisemites would find some other reason to hate Jooz. If you believe otherwise then maybe you should reconisder your stance on the issue.

I am in full agreement with your last post Greg. I want to join with my jewish and non jewish friends in confronting European anti semitism wherever or in whatever form it presents itself. Libertas linked to this post; commenter Nicol D posted an interesting comment:
I was at a party before Christmas and one of the guests was a fairly well known producer who was talking about his trips to Israel. He was Jewish.
I was engaged in one dialogue while still keeping an ear open to the conversation of the producer. He seemed fairly politically engaged. As I listened, he was carrying on with the typical condescedning jokes at the expense of Catholics and Evangelicals. It didn’t bother me as I have been in this position before.
Then he began talking about Jewish people and Palestinians. He talked of how he encountered several Palestinians on his travels to the mid-east who openly expressed how they hated and wanted to kill Jews. He said it didn’t bother him because as a non-religious secularist he felt very removed from the experience of being a Jew and he no longer had any real sympathy with their cause. He said it didn’t bother him at all when he heard radical Palestinians say those things.
I was saddened to hear this. How could I possibly get upset at this man disrespecting my faith when he didn’t even have any respect for the people who were his own?
I have actually had a few instances like this in the past 6 months alone, but this stood out the most. Avrech’s article is very pertinent.

Ted:
you wrote that Robert should apologise,
in your original post, you wrote;
" ... Zionists want jews to migrate to Israel. Therefor it makes sense to encourage the perception that Europe is unsafe for jews. This perception is largely false. This is the motivation behind the absurd and increasingly dillusional comments about muslims taking over Europe. ..."
people who quote this inaccurate interpretation of Zionist have usually been found to have ant-Semitic opinons
Zionists want Jews to *have a RIGHT* to settle in Israel, their Jewish homeland, with countless documented historical ties to it.
Zionists living in the West, usually tend to be quite patriotic to the countries they live in,
(You have never heard Robert encouraging people to move to Israel from America,)
and in the context of Robert's quote about Britain
(which, btw, i don't share completely, and hope that what we are seeing, is simply British reservedness being 'pushed', which if pushed too hard , will eventually lead to a backlash that woud make Churchill proud) he probably meant for the Jews of Britain to come here.
in general,
wherever it is unsafe for Jews to walk about publicly recognizable as Jews, because of attacks from Muslim gangs, which is the case in France and some other continental European countries now, then there are three options:
[1] (my preference) Jews arm themselves and master martial arts, so that any muslims who attack them will be rendered incapable of doing so again
[2] demand of a government who declares itself not to be anti-Semitic, to punish those who perpetrate such attacks, and provide protection against any further attacks
if options [1] and [2] are not being accomplished, and attacks continue, then the only option left is [3] leave that country
this is basic survival,
not Zionism
