Homicide Bomber in Dimona
From The Israel Project:
As Israel continues to work for peace a Palestinian suicide bomber killed one woman and wounded 11 other people when he blew himself up in a crowded mall in the southern Israeli city of Dimona at 10:30 A.M. (8:30 A.M. GMT). A second suicide bomber was killed by a policeman before he could detonate his explosives belt.
The Iran-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group was the first to claim responsibility for the attack, but Fatah’s armed wing, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and the Palestinian Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) later claimed responsibility for the bombing. Hamas stated that the attack was “justified.”
The terrorists infiltrated into Israel from the Sinai region, having originally come from Gaza. The border between Gaza and the Egyptian Sinai peninsula is currently open after Hamas destroyed the border-barrier two weeks ago.
This is the first time the southern town of Dimona has been hit by a suicide-bomb attack. Israeli defense officials warned last week that Hamas and other terrorist groups had sent terrorist operatives into the Sinai through the open Gaza-Egypt border, in order to carry out suicide bombings in Israel. On Saturday, Feb. 3, two Palestinians wearing suicide-bomb belts were caught in Sinai by Egyptian security forces and on Friday, Feb. 2, 15 armed Palestinians were also arrested in Sinai by Egyptian forces.
In 2007, Palestinian terrorist groups attempted to carry out 29 suicide bombings in Israel which were prevented by Israeli security services, according to Israel’s internal intelligence agency the General Security Services.
The last suicide-bombing occurred on Jan. 29, 2007 in Eilat, was also perpetrated by PIJ and the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and came from Gaza via Sinai. In 2007, there were 17 attempted suicide bombings originating from Gaza.
2006 Terror Attacks:
Jan. 19 – PIJ and suicide bomber detonated his explosives belt at a Tel Aviv falafel stand. Thirty-one people wounded.
March 30 - An Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade suicide bomber killed four Israelis near the West Bank settlement of Kedumim.
April 17 - A PIJ suicide bomber killed 11 people at a falafel stand in Tel Aviv, in an attack similar to the one carried out Jan. 19. The bombing also wounded 60 others. Palestinian Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility.

Seraphic Secret will say it once again: Israel is under no obligation to provide the terror state of Gaza with power and fuel.
Further, the citizens of Gaza, in free and democratic elections, overwhelmingly elected Hamas, whose charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and its replacement with an Islamic State. The charter also calls for the death of Jews everywhere.
Thus the citizens of Gaza are enemies of Israel, and as America bombed German and Japanese cities and her citizens into the stone age in order to restore civilization, Israel must do the same to Gaza and to any Arab entity that threatens Israel's security.
By the way, if you are under any illusions about how ordinary Gazans respond to the news of this horrendous attack on Israeli civilians, click here.
More on Kobi Mor, who shot and killed the second homicide bomber.
Soccer Dad correctly points out that this homicide bombing is a direct result of the breach in the wall between Gaza and Egypt. The MSM floated the false story that the Gazans poured into Egypt because they were starving. This was, of course, a lie. No one in Gaza is starving. The Gazans were buying luxury items like TV's, motorcycles, visiting relatives, and oh yes, buying narcotics, trading in black currency, and naturally, smuggling arms, ammunition, and moving Iranian trained jihadists into Gaza, and Sinai, in order to stage terror attacks in Israel.

Farewell United Kingdom. If you cannot even honestly name the problem, you cannot fight it. The UK will not survive as a democracy into the next century. That's an easy call. It will devolve into a barbaric Islamic entity. Even the U.K. educational system is geared for self-destruction. And let's not forget U.K. Muslim Policemen and government officials aiding and abetting so-called honor killings. In the article, "Asian" is code for Muslim.
Memo to the Jews: For the love of G-d, get out while you still can!
If all this doesn't ring alarm bells then take a look at this story about Muslim medical students who refuse to obey basic rules of hygiene because it clashes with Islam. Personally, I'd prefer a nice Jewish doctor—who, y'know, scrubs before a procedure. But hey, that pesky hygiene thing is probably just part of the international Zionist conspiracy thing we hear so much about in the enlightened Arab world.
And though bigamy is illegal in the U.K., well, if you're Muslim and you've got a couple of wives and you're applying for welfare—no problemo!
As I said, the U.K. is toast.
Okay, some good news: The IAF's Greatest Hits.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

The money quote, as reported from Jpost.com:
Monday's terror attack gives us a painful reminder that we must be vigilant and maintain our readiness in all areas," Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said hours after a 20-year-old woman was killed and 38 people were wounded, one critically, in a suicide bombing at a Dimona commercial center on Wednesday morning.
---------------------------------------
How can Olmert be taken seriously when his actions speak differently?
How many more Jews will needlessly need to die until things change?
I know Robert, myself, and others have mentioned this many times.....I'm just so frustrated that it seems we have learned nothing from history.
Truly sad......

" ... The UK will not survive as a democracy into the next century. ... "
hopefully, it's not that bleak,
the Brits can be a hardy lot,
very patient, but after pushed to a point,
the 'couth' comes off,
and the Brit-Muslim armed conflict will make the English-Irish conflict look like touch football ...
the sad part, is that it's all preventable,
if they would stop the 'Chmberlain appeasement' mode and finally go into 'Churchill liberty' mode

Thanks for the link and for linking to the profile of Kobi Mor.
The initial reports had what actually happened reversed. But killing the terrorist with a head shot makes more sense.

Kishke:
Yes, former President Jimmy Carter certified the elections as fair and absolutely honest. He was, of course, thrilled with the results. What could go possibly go wrong with the election of a group whose charter is partly based, word for word, on The Protocols on the Elders of Zion.

The only person who take Olmert seriously is, well, Olmert. His place in history is firmly engraved as the worst leader the State of Israel has ever endured.

I'm not optimistic about the Brits. They seem to be in full appeasement mode with absolutely no awareness of the lines in the sand they have already crossed.
Jew-hatred is a casual fact of life among the chattering classes in the U.K. and when that virus is out in the open and fashionable, well, all bets are off.
The IRA were pussies compared to Islamic jihadists.
Remember: Jews are the canary in the coal mine of civilization.

Robert,
I agree....
However, while this may be the case, Israel suffers.
And it seems the other parties, like Labor, Shas, etc. are more concerned about staying in the ruling coalition than doing the right thing...and bringing down this government and calling for new elections.
In the coming days we will hear tough words and rhetoric but nothing will change.
I do not even think a horrific terrorist attack, Heaven Forbid, would change a thing....the bodies will be swept away and it will be a rush to see who can give the Arabs what they want.

Soccer Dad:
You're very welcome. Getting the story straight in the immediate aftermath of these horrendous homicide bombings is almost impossible. It's amazing that so much is correct. Already we hear that the terrorists came from the peaceful city of Hevron, no doubt good friends of those patriots from Peace Now.
A head shot to a terrorist trying to self-detonate is an amazing accomplishment. Under those circumstances your heart is racing, your throat is dry as the Negev, and fear is eating your soul. Kobi Mor is quite a man, and a great marksman. He risked his life and saved many lives.

I can't imagine what it would take to fire (accurately) in those circumstances.
I am skeptical of the Chevron claim. The families of the two terrorists live in Gaza. But I guess we'll see.

Soccer Dad:
Head shots, even from just a few yards, are incredibly difficult. In the aftermath of a homicide bombing, as another terrorist is about to detonate, your every instinct is to flee. Kobi Mor is an exceptional man.
Here's what we know for certain about the terrorists:
1. They were Arabs.
2. They were Muslim.
3. They were terrorists intent on murdering random civilians.
4. They are heroes to the majority of the Arab world.
5. If not, there would be editorials and newscasts telling us otherwise.
6. They are burning in hell where they belong.

this is what a 'long-gunner' lives for ...
with a reliable sniper rifle, and trusted sight,
at three hundred yards or less, with no thermal wind currents, the target is 'toast' in the hands of a trained marksman
time for as many Jews as possible to get training
in small arms, and know what weapon works best for what situation, and be prepared

Hello, Robert. Yesterday you quoted from The Israel Project "The terrorists infiltrated into Israel from the Sinai region, having originally come from Gaza. The border between Gaza and the Egyptian Sinai peninsula is currently open after Hamas destroyed the border-barrier two weeks ago." This brings to mind Hitler's audacious but successful strategy of circumventing France's highly fortified Maginot Line by invading Belgium then France during WWII. This should worry Israel, because it demonstrates that depending on walls as the end-all defense system is dangerous and ineffective (delusional). The Maginot Line lulled France into a false sense of security in WWII and the Bar Lev line in the Sinai did the same for Israel in the Yom Kippur war. Hamas' actions should prove to Israel that the security wall should be considered at best a back-up strategy, not a cornerstone of the defense policy.

Thanks so much. Excellent points. Static defense lines are dangerous, always have been. Back in 1973 they proved almost the downfall of Israel on the Suez. I remember that all too well. The walls must be constantly patrolled by soldiers and flying drones.

Muslims Against Sharia condemn the murderers responsible for the homicide bombing in Dimona as well as degenerate perpetuation of the culture of death in Gaza.
Our prayers are with the victims of this atrocity. We send our condolences to their loved ones.
May the homicide bomber rot in hell for eternity. May his accomplices and animals who celebrated this horrendous act join him soon!
Muslims Against Sharia call on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to shut down Al-Hayat al-Jadida, Al-Iyam and Al-Quds as terrorist mouthpieces that glorify homicide bombings. Failing to do so will show that Palestinian Authority's quest for peace is nothing more than empty words.
