Best of the Jewish Blogosphere # 158

Haveil Havalim: The Almost Purim Edition, is up.

If you want to know what's going on in the Jewish blogosphere, this is the place to go.

We also love Jack's nifty audio intro with his signature cackle.

We'd like to thank Jack for including Seraphic Secret's Getting Stoned in Israel in this week's superb round-up.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

A signature cackle? Hmm...I kind of like that. I suppose there are few worse descriptions.

As always we appreciate your support.

Well, getting into the 'Almost Purim' spirit -

cyberspace can be 'dangerous',
so, as an extra protection for online surfing,

here is the Online Traveler's Prayer

(p.s.
if anyone knows the 'real' author, please post,
Thanks!)

Thanks so much for your work, Jack.

And Ex -- enjoyed the link.

An e-mail from Naomi Ragen referred to a very moving article on the J-Blog: Doron: Story of a True Tzaddik. Truly inspiring.

Hello, Robert. You wrote the insightful comment "Colleen was smart about her career, but like so many young, inexperienced Hollywood actresses, when it came to men her choices were based on on gauzy, romantic notions that were limited to idealized Hollywood images. The hard work of marriage, and the importance of shared values were distant shores that for too many never entered the calculus of love and marriage. " I'd like to add : As it was then, so is it now - nothing has changed.

Joel:

Very true, one of the reasons I write my old Hollywood profiles is to remind people that history repeats itself in an endless cycle, in Hollywood and in geo-politics.
