Best of the Jewish Blogosphere # 159

Annex - Bardot, Brigitte_34.jpg
One of the women in my shul dressed up as Brigitte Bardot for Purim.
Great costume, huh? And totally modest.

Haveil Havalim #159, appropriately titled The Purim is Over Edition, is up and once again Jack of Random Thoughts has done a fine job.

We'd like to thank Jack for including two of our articles in this week's round-up: Our piece, with You Tube visual aid, Obama's Pastor: Israel That Dirty Word.

The outrageous thing is that Obama—after 20-years passively listening and never once protesting to his racist, Jew-hater Pastor, whoops, ex-Pastor—now believes, along with the, ahem, liberal establishment, that he has the credentials to lecture the American people about race. That's called cynically playing the race card.

But, you know, I'm just a “typical white person”, like Obama's grandmother.

What happens if Obama fails to secure the White House? I can see the headlines in the N.Y. Times: “Angry & Frustrated Progressives Youths Rampage in Inner Brooklyn Heights.”

We also wrote a piece about The Lessons of the Great Syrian Raid. We pointed out that appeasement never pays, that deterrence can be established—and after the Mercaz Massacre Israel needs to hit back at the enemy more forcefully than ever before.

As always, Jack provides his beloved—well, we at Casa Avrech love it—audio introduction where we learn that Jack has a cold. Poor ba-by. Quick, send Jack some chicken soup. But wait, Jack can't be too ill because, yup, there's that old reliable Friday the 13th cackle.

Refuah shlemah, Jack.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

The recent Israeli achievements in the covert war against Syria, Hizbullah and Hamas have been nothing less that spectacular.

Within the span of about 3 months the Israeli intelligence has successfully targeted a nuclear site in Syria, assasinated a top Hizbullah terrorist and several top Hamas activists .

We often forget that the Israeli military is dependant on the intelligence community for accurate and exact data prior to a military strike.

Three cheers for the unsung heroes of the Israeli intelligence community!!

As always we appreciate your help and appreciation.

Gregg:

Very true, Israel's intelligence services have regained their footing and are striking the enemy in his home ground at will.

Naturally, this foreshadows the inevitable Israeli strike on the Persian nuclear facilities which the chattering classes in America and Europe are determined to avoid. After all, what can possibly go wrong if the Holocaust denying Islamic Republic of Iran goes nuclear?

P.S. The Gulf Sunni states are secretly anxious for Israel to obliterate the Persian nukes. Actually, the Sunnis would like to see Israel obliterate Persia. Period.

Always glad to help. Great job, and get better.

Robert

I recently spent a year in Dubai. I can confirm the ruling elite are extremely fearful of a nuclear Iran. In conversations some of them even reluctantly admitted welcoming an israeli strike. In general, I was astounded at the level of hostility the Arabs had toward Persia.

Robert,
Vile as Wright's preachifying is, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on his being a 'former' pastor, as if his retirement had anything to do with the campaign. It sounds as though that's been in the works for a while - he is in his sixties, I think.
And his successor has apparently been chosen for some time as well.
Sometimes a retirement is just a retirement.

The only thing in this post I feel qualified to comment on in this post is the Purim Costume. I am quite impressed with the costume, and the fact that she managed to pull off what she wanted while remaining tznius is pretty cool.

Modest, right down the cross shaped brooch.

Sal:

I'm being ironic when referring to the "former pastor."

Yep, the women in my shul are pretty cool.

And dedicated to authenticity in their costumes.

Doesn't get much prettier than that.

Yes. Santa Monica is gorgeous, isn't it?

Santa Monica is outstanding. One of my favorite places.
