Iran Places Bounties on Israeli Leaders

War+is+Coming.JPEG

The latest annual Israeli Intelligence Report, compiled by the IDF Intelligence Branch, with the help of the Mossad and the Shabak (General Security Service) has just been submitted to the government and it is a bit more forthright than the convoluted American NIE. The authors sum up the major threats to Israel in this way:

1) Lebanon is crumbling and falling into the hands of Hizbullah.
2) Syria remains a threat.
3) Israeli-Arabs are joining the fray.
4) Gaza and the world-wide Jihad movement are threats to Israel.
5) But the most significant danger of all lies in Iran's nuclear program.

Not mentioned is this latest bit of blood-lust from the Holocaust denying Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran has placed a bounty on the heads of Israel's security establishment via its state-supported Islamist student union.
Students offered rewards totaling one million dollars for the execution of Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Mossad Director Meir Dagan and IDF Military Intelligence Chief Amos Yadlin, the state-run Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA) reported Monday.
The group has requested that Iranians wishing to increase the bounties donate their kidneys. The bounty for Barak is currently 400,000 dollars, while the murders of Dagan or Yadlin would earn the would-be killers 300,000 each. "These sums will be given to any person, or their families, who could punish these individuals in any part of the world," the Islamist group announced.
Banners announcing the bounties feature the quote by Islamic Revolution Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini that "Israel must be wiped off the map." The line has become a rallying cry for Iran's President Mahmoud Ahamdinejad in his bid for nuclear capabilities.

But by all means, let's allow this terrorist Islamic state, proudly reaching for the genocide of the Jewish people, to acquire nuclear weapons. What could possibly go wrong?

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

The American news media has apparently decided it will do whatver it takes to stop an attack on Iran, no matter what. Now this would have been a little suspicious if it were any other country, but with a suddenly even more super oil rich nation like Iran, I worry someone is getting paid off.

When a marginal member of the "news" media like Esquire Magazine, (seriously, where does "Esquire", basically "Vogue for Boys" get off talking serious geo-politics?), plays up Admiral Fallon's supposed opposition to an attack on Iran and that leads to his resignation -- well, I get worried.

And if by some crazy chance Obama or Hillary gets elected and by a crazier chance they see the Iran threat is real... will the news media attack them for "war mongering" too? If they do, at least will then know that Iran is paying some reporters and editors off.

And if by some crazy chance Obama or Hillary gets elected

That's a very likely occurrence, not just some crazy chance.

What is seraphic secrets position regarding the Iran nukes. Should Israel strike ? We all know the only reason that neither the US or Israel has struck by now is because the chances of success are not good and the potential consequences if it goes wrong are very frightening. Do you believe they should try anyway.

By the way, you will all be glad to hear that the main six o clock news in Ireland today carried a comprehensive report by the countries most prominent journalist on the misery and pain that has been inflicted on the people of Sderot in recent times by the Kasam rockets being fired from Gaza.

I've heard various estimates of Iran having nuclear weapon(s) from 2-5-10 years. One
security expert's opinion is that Israel probably would not be able to take out Iran's nuclear facilities, but the USA could. Well, what are we waiting for? I bet most Americans would be in favor and most do support Israel. The Muslim world would, of course, scream bloody murder but the Middle East sheikh-doms would probably secretly breathe a huge sigh of relief. The UN and the rest of the Euro nations would throw a collective tantrum and the "intelligentsia" would have fits. But who really cares? Israel and the USA are already hated by all the "sophisticates" and Muslim hordes. There is not a country in the world that has the guts to stand up to us.

Israel and the US need to summon the political will to face this "existential" threat head-on, together. Iran is a REAL threat right now, a malignancy that becomes ever worse. We can spend the next 50 years apologizing for acting decisively, but that is far preferable than watching the nation of Israel destroyed--and the horrible consequences therefrom.

The real risk in a strike is twofold:

1) Successful or not, there is a likely "poison pill" sleeper order out to several Hizbullah terror cells to strike as soon as something happens in Iran. While scary, I think the terror alert levels are already high enough throughout the world and these people are going to strike sometime sooner or later anyway.

2) Successful or not, we will probably see $200, maybe even $300-a-barrel oil prices. I think the American people would actually live with that... we're getting used to ridiculous gas prices and if government rationing were put in effect, most Americans would live with that, (but look for planted stories in the press about all the "hardships" we would endure... it's like Tokyo Rose).

Those are the two biggest risks at this stage, beause Iran does not have the nukes yet.

If you ask me, those are acceptable, if severe, risks.

Speaking of Tokyo Rose, it might be fun to take some of her broadcast transcripts and put them side by side with some of the things coming out of our news media today about Iraq or Iran, etc. I'm thinking there would be some sickening similarities. Robert, how about a profile of Tokyo Rose in a future post?

Perhaps when Iran threatens europe with nuclear destruction the spineless pols here in the EU. will find the courage to support israel in what it must one day do...then again probably not!

Jake:

As always, thanks so much for your articulate and timely comment.

There's a bumper sticker that's incredibly popular among Hollywood liberals, it reads: “I'm Against the Next War.”

Well, there you have it. No matter what they don't want to fight.

What do you do with such people?

The jihadists, obviously, have found their best friends.

As for Admiral Fallon, by all accounts he was the most insubordinate commander since Douglas MacArthur. The Israelis hated him like poison. And Gen. Petreus hated him even worse. I hear Fallon is angling hard for the Veep position with either Obama or Clinton.

To which we can only say: Duh.

The general election is a long way off. It's not over until it's over. One thing I've learned from the most recent rounds is that conventional wisdom has nothing to do with wisdom.

Ted:

America has not struck because they have decided to leave the job to the Israelis.

1. Israel has been training over Turkey for the Persian nuclear mission for several years.
2. The raid into Syria was part of a dry run for the Persian raid.
3. Israel is actively tweaking certain American bunker busting bombs that will penetrate the Persian underground facilities.
4. At the same time the Mossad has been assassinating nuclear scientists who have been selling technology to the Persians. This low-intensity conflict does not get reported in the press but it's vicious and takes place in Europe and yes, in Iran.
5. Israel will take out the Persian nuclear facilities—when the world least expects it. Even the dolt Olmert will order the raid. Israel has received private reassurances from the Saudis and the Kuwaitis that they will look favorably on the raid. The Sunni states are terrified of a Shia hegemony through nuclear power.

Conan:

Europe has, with all due respect, handed over her national defense to America, and to a lesser extent to, yes, Israel.

Elbit Systems, an Israeli company, is currently building missile defense systems in Great Britain and all over Eastern Europe.

Great stock, BTW! I own a ton.

Nevertheless, in terms of offense, the name of the game, it's America who leads the charge, and to a lesser extent Israel.

Don't forget, with all of the problems in Israel they still took out the North Korean-Syrian-Iranian nuclear facility in Syria.

Great Britain seems to be in the process of giving up her nationhood to the EU. An extremely troubling development.

Whereas France, under Skarkozy, is developing some muscle and moral fiber.

Look, we don't want to be in this fight alone. We all live in the same world. We are fighting the same enemy. We anxiously wait for Europe to reject the false G-d of multiculturalism, recognize and confront the evil of jihad.

End of rant.

Going to watch a Brigitte Bardot movie now. I mean, if the Jihadis get power, no more BB.

Kishke and Robert:

Yes, the general election is very far off and this year more than ever, I think a lot can happen between now and then. The lack of any kind of permanent trend in this election is weird. Frontrunners have become also-rans in a matter of days and vice versa.

For now, I see McCain doing very well if he can find some way to craft a credible message on the economy. Once he does that, it's going to be hard to beat him. Hillary is just so toxic to half the country and Obama will not stand up well in the debates. Right now the news media is still kind of pulling for him because Hillary is so awful, but up against McCain I think they'll turn on him just enough.

McCain just needs to get an economic message, play up his super health care plan, (which is absolutely great by the way), and remind everyone he's the only grown-up in the room when it comes to national security.

Oh, and if he wants me to write jokes for him...

Jake:

We must never be deterred from fighting terrorists and terrorist states because of the threat of retaliation.

That is appeasement.

In fact, we should make it clear that if they hit back at us we will destroy their capital city. We will make the price of their aggression so high that their criminal regime will not survive.

In short: we must break out of the tit for tat cycle and move into total war.

Drill in Alaska! What is it with people, are they morons!

Tokyo Rose wasn't a movie star. I do movies. She was a media figure. This sounds like a job for Jake!
