Seven of the ten wounded students remain hospitalized. The public is asked to pray for the recovery of: Naftali ben [son of] Gila from Sderot, Yonatan ben Avital, Shimon ben Tirza, Nadav ben Hadas, Reuven ben Naomi and Elchanan ben Zehava.
The funerals began at near the main entrance to the capital, at Merkaz HaRav Kook Yeshiva, considered to be the heart of the national religious movement. Rabbi Benny Eisner, a veteran Merkaz HaRav student and teacher in the high school, led the mourners in the recital of Psalms. At the conclusion of the eulogies and prayers, separate funeral processions will set out for the various communities where the boys are to be buried.
National Union MK Effie Eitam noted Friday morning that “whoever chose the Merkaz HaRav Yeshiva as a terrorist target knew it was the heart of national Zionism.” Virtually every religious-Zionist yeshiva in the country was founded and/or staffed by former students of the yeshiva.
Eitam, who learned at the yeshiva 30 years ago after living in the secular Ein Gev kibbutz, called the institution “the mother of all Zionist yeshivas” whose graduates serve in the IDF and have been at the forefront of development in Judea and Samaria. “The victims were murdered,” he declared, “but their hope and faith cannot be killed.”
Among the thousands of mourners at the funeral could be seen rabbis from around the country, as well as MK Ruby Rivlin, MK Zevulun Orlev, and former MK Ehud Yatom. Benches were set up at the entrance to the yeshiva for the families of the victims, surrounded by the large crowd of mourners.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

i cannot write my reaction to this,
it is, in any case, known or guessable,
and was the same long before this,
and the many tragedies that preceded it.
i would like to focus on possible words of comfort, to whoever might benefit from them
On Fast days of the Jewish calendar(with the exception of the Fast of Esther) it is a custom in many Chabad communities to learn something the Rebbe would say repeatedly on the Tisha B'Av, and the other fasts.
the Rebbe would tell the story of HaRav Yosef Karo
http://www.sephardiccouncil.org/sages/karo.html
the following is (my unedited translated) summary of the actual audiotape record of the story :
It is known that the Bais Yosef (respected title often used for Rav Yosef Karo) had an Angel who would visit him to learn with him, and in order to keep whatever the Angel said, separate from his other writings, the Bais Yosef recorded them in a unique work, now known as the Magid Meshorim.
Once, the Angel visited him, and told him that because of all his tireless writing and study to clarify Jewish Law and Custom, he would merit to die "Al Kiddush HaShem", where he would be murdered Sanctifying G-D's Name. The reaction of the Bais Yosef was one of incredible joy, and he set about finishing his work with renewed energy.
When his work (of 20 years) was near completion, the Angel visited him again, and told him that his work would be revered for all time,
as the classic reference for Jewish law ,
and that he could not have both this great honor, as well as the honor of dying Al Kiddush Hashem,
and that he would therefore have a normal death.
The Bais Yosef was profoundly disappointed, and cried, and said, that he knew that there were two other people in his generation who were capable of writing his Codification of Jewish Law, and begged that the merit of producing this work be given to them, and that he would not publish his work, if only he could be allowed the death of Sanctification promised him. The Angel repeated that this was not be.
The Rebbe concluded with the pronouncement that any Jew, anywhere, who is killed by those who hate Jews and Jewishness, is in this same status of Sanctification longed for by the Bais Yosef.
we do not know the reasons why
who is chosen for this and who is not,
as we do not know the reasons for any suffering,
but we do have it on reliable authority,
that they are Honored for all time beyond all honors of worldly achievement
may the Heavenly Account of all Suffering
be balanced by the True Judge
Good Shabbos
