Hamas: All Out for Obama

Hamas says: Vote for Barack Hussein Obama—Or Else!
Last night during the Democratic debate, as Obama explained that his way of dealing with the Persian nuclear threat was by talking to them, my fearless wife turned to me and said:
“I'm scared.”
I nodded my head in agreement.
Both candidates promise to surrender in Iraq and thereby turn Iraq into a province of Iran.
Obama, the most left wing member of the Senate, with a voting record even more left wing than Senator Edward Kennedy—that's quite a feat—didn't answer one question directly. He's the slippery politician cleverly disguised as an anti-politician.
I realized that much of Obama's appeal lies in is his voice. He sounds like an oboe. He sounds like he knows what he's talking about. His well modulated tones are soothing. You feel like you can fall asleep listening to Obama drone on and on—he's like an appealing Philip K. Dick android—and when you wake up all will be well.
In truth, it's a well crafted illusion.
Look, I'll be honest, I hope the Democrats nominate Obama because the more the American people learn about this radical leftist, the more they will be inclined to vote for John McCain. Last night, by refusing to give straight answers, Obama revealed his shallow core. For if Obama were to give straight answers, the American electorate would flee from his banner in record numbers.
But of course, the Jew-hating jihadists recognize a potential Trojan horse when they see one:
On the eve of a planned meeting of its leader Khaled Meshaal with former President Jimmy Carter, the Hamas terrorist organization has expressed the "hope" that Senator Barack Hussein Obama will win the presidential elections and change America's foreign policy.
Even though Obama has said that he would not meet with Hamas unless it renounces violence and recognizes Israel, or becomes the recognized leadership of the Palestinians -- he has no qualms about holding talks with the leadership of Iran, Syria, and North Korea -- that doesn't seem to bother the Hamas leadership.
"We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the elections," Ahmed Yousuf, Hamas' top political adviser in the Gaza Strip, said in an exclusive interview with World Net Daily and with the John Batchelor Show on WABC Radio in New York.
He saw Obama's comments about Hamas as political posturing that was understandable to lull supporters of Israel before the election.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Reading reviews and comments online today I'm very worried that people are not seeing the danger in Obama and his carefuly hidden agenda. Most pols when elected, mature and accomodate...I have an unpleasant feeling that Obama is not one of those...he has some very unpleasant surprises in store for us all as his whole philosophy seems to be one of mysticism mixed with socialism. As an aside 'a stranger amongst us' is on english tv..I shall watch.

Thud:
There are certain people who will vote for Obama no matter what. They are radical leftists, delusional liberal Jews (hopeless clinical cases) and Democrats who would rather die than vote Republican.
But Obama is in meltdown mode. That was clear in the debate last night. And Reagan Democrats won't stand for it, nor will Independents, both groups care about national security.
In the meantime, Hillary and Obama are cutting each other apart, and McCain just looks better and better every day. His speech about taxes yesterday was just out of the park.
Unless you're a crypto-socialist.

It would be interesting to note whether Hamas's rationales go beyond merely their jihad, whether they esteem him in terms of his domestic policy positions.
A "compare and contrast" there would be useful in understanding the world's curious fascination with the junior African tribal leader/junior Illinois senator.

I would answer Jeremiah with the idea that a: Hamas hates the United States b: Obama's socialist policies will destroy America from within c: therefore, Hamas loves Obama.
Herbert Hoover raised taxes in 1932, signed the Smoot-Hawley act in 1930, and both he and Roosevelt (of course, especially the latter) tried all kinds of public works (i.e. government spending). The net effect was to make a bad recession into the Great Depression and make it last until the advent of America's entry into World War 2.
What does Obama (or Hillary) want to do? Raise taxes, have trade wars and protectionist schemes, and have huge public spending programs.
And we are not in a good economic position now. Obama would put us over the edge of the cliff again if he would have his way. Combine that with his pro-Palestinian tilt (and all evidence points that way to me), his foreign policy Carter-like ideas...what's NOT to like for Hamas? And what's NOT to fear for the rest of us?
(And yes, I know that the Great Depression had numerous and still-argued about causes, but most economists would agree that Smoot-Hawley and the Revenue Act of 1932 were major disasters, and there is growing consensus that Roosevelt's economic plans did little to help...and maybe much to prolong or worsen the Depression. But gosh, he was all about "hope" and attitude, as the multitudes believed in his patrician voice and soothing tone. Kind of like the oboe-quality Robert writes of...

Seriously: Americans, whose government helps facilitate and fund Hamas, have a right and an obligation to demand strict accounting - not just dollars (or Euros or dinars) and not just ideas, but the real programmatics.

I wish I even felt comfortable discussing Obama's or Hillary's "agenda" or "platform." The reason is because I don't think they have one.
The modern Democratic Party was founded on a number of goals and principals set out by FDR and basically all achieved midway through LBJ's term in office. Since then, the party has become more and more a slave to the 24-hour news cycle, espousing this and that for awhile, and then moving on to something else.
That morphed into something even worse under Bill Clinton, who simply said and did whatever necessary to win elections; it was clear the man believed in nothing... not even briefly.
Obama may seem different, but he's the same as Hillary in many ways. He's a bit more honest, but compared to Hillary most people look like George Washington in the honesty department.
These kinds of empty suits are in many ways scarier than candidates who simply propose wrongheaded ideas and stick with them. At least with them I know what to expect. With people like Hillary and Obama, we will get nothing resembling leadership and courage.
And leadership and courage is something we in America and the people of Israel desperately need from their elected leaders right now.

You write: "...basically all achieved midway through LBJ's term in office."
Like: The war on poverty?

Midway through LBJ's term, you had civil rights, medicaid, social security, unemployment benefits, medicare all in the lock box. Untouchable from that point on. LBJ's attempt to expand that with the "War on Poverty" got sidetracked by Vietnam, (and the impossibility of ever really stamping out poverty completely), but the point is that the things Democrats hold sacred was and is secure at least politically. After that, everything the Democrats have attempted to do, right or wrong, hasn't enjoyed the same mandate.
