Who's the Jewish Movie Star? Take 2
This great star of the silent era wishes you a lovely and meaningful Shabbat.
Do you know who she is?
And can you name the film from which this still is taken?
Hint: In 1917 she was earning $30,000 for each film, with a $1,000 per day bonus for every day of filming. Keep in mind those were the days before personal income taxes, when a dollar actually had some value.
Answer on Monday.
Karen and I wish all our friends a wonderful miracle in Shabbat and a joyous Shivei and Acharon Shel Pesach, last days of Passover.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Okay, I had to go to my sister for this one and I am trusting her old movie star knowledge. Is it Alla Nazimova?

I want to first thank my sister(Tamster) for telling me about this website. I love the mixture of politics, old hollywood and learning about Israel and the Jewish culture.
My guess is Alla Nazimova as well and the picture is from the film Madame Peacock.

So glad you enjoy Seraphic Secret and our eclectic mix of topics. The other day, on the way to shul, synagogue, a friend who reads this blog, also walking to shul, remarked: ”Those Hollywood actors you write about, they don't seem too normal.”
Which absolutely cracked me up.
Talk about understatement.
Anyway, thanks for the educated guess, full answer tomorrow.
