Democratic Politics: The Haunted

Hizbulllah Nazis.bmp
Hizbullah terrorists give the Nazi salute. Obama wants
to talk, without preconditions, to their masters, Iran.

It's become clear that Barack Obama is not a liberal, nor a progressive, but a radical leftist. He's clueless about foreign policy, which is why he receives support from the radical Islamic world. They understand exactly who he is: a leaky American vessel who would be steam-rolled by every tin-pot dictator and Jew-hating Muslim tyrant on the face of the earth.

Any man who is comfortable, for over 20 years, as a "proud member" of a racist church has deep character flaws. Any man who draws consistent support and spiritual sustenance from America and Israel hating radicals such as Jeremiah Wright, Michael Pfleger (I keep wanting to say Father Flotsky, recalling the hysterical Lenny Bruce routine) Pentagon bombers Bernardine Dorn and husband, partner-in-terror, Bill Ayres, cannot be trusted with this country's highest office. Obama's judgement in matters of geo-politics and national defense is not just faulty, but warped by his radical ideology.

The Democrats have made their calculations. They know that Obama cannot win the general election. Hillary could have given McCain a run for his money. But she's female and Obama is black and race trumps gender in the, ahem, progressive mind.

Rather than alienate their black base, without whom they cannot win any elections, the Democratic leadership has opted to sacrifice the Presidency in favor of propping up a nominee for the most self-serving reasons: the superdelegates, AKA the party elite, will also be on the ballots in November, and though Obama will lose, they will secure the black vote and get to keep their jobs.

The superdelegates do have their priorities.

The Democrats boast that Obama's candidacy has prompted a record number of new Democratic voters. They argue that Obama has reactivated a new, untapped base that will be a signifigant factor in the elections.

Maybe yes, maybe no.

But keep in mind that the last time the Democrats made this claim was during the Presidential candidacy of George McGovern.

Republicans can be grateful that the Democrats, who have played the race card for so many years, will now down in flames as this insidious form of racism comes back to haunt them.

As Bobby Kennedy famously remarked: "Liberals are suicidal."

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

So you predict a landslide victory for McCain?
I tend to agree.
Interestingly, I have often conveyed to my Israeli associates that a black(er.. African American),Hispanic(Latin American)jew or female can ever be President of the US.

Superdelegates are a lot like Israeli Knesset members, they'll sell their soul for their positions of power.

Bill Bennett wrote something in the same vein.

The advantage of new primary voters doesn't necessarily translate into a general election boost. I recently saw an article that mentioned it, but I don't remember where.

If you remember back to the early parts of the campaign the rap on Obama was that he may be "too white" to win over his own black base. Well, that's just a memory now.

Funny, I worked for a Democrat who was not only a member of a black church, but he was the founding pastor. His name was Floyd Flake, and he was a five-term congressman from Queens who routinely bolted from the crazies in his general community. He was a big supporter of private education for one thing. My point is that there are plenty of black Christian leaders who are mainstream and inspiring people, but I wonder if the "he's acting too white!" argument keeps them out of the public square at crucial times.

And the "new voters" registering for the Democrats are very young people who will not show up in big numbers to the polls in November. They never have and they never will in my opinion. You could probably even have a candidate in favor of bringing back the draft and you STILL wouldn't get 50% turnout from 18-25 year olds.

As of now, Obama will still win CA, NY, DC, MA, and maybe 2-3 other states. Not quite McGovern territory as I thought last month, but McCain has a shot at 400+ electoral votes. The truth is a lot of Democrats like McCain and always have.

And if the rumors are true about a Michelle Obama video where she calls white people "dirty whiteys," then it's really all over.

" ... Hillary could have given McCain a run for his money. But she's female and Obama is black and race trumps gender in the, ahem, progressive mind. ... "

i don't know ...

i think the country wouldn't mind a leader who is Black or a Woman, as long as the person is a real Leader !

Hillary, if she divorced Bill,
has a very good chance of beating McCain
(even Ann Coulter prefers her over McCain)

If Colin Powell were running, he'd have a decent chance, because people might be more confident that he understands the nature of our foreign enemies, and is capable of more effective policy than just planning to talk with them ...

If there were an American equivalent of Margaret Thatcher running, she probably win in a landslide ...

i think the problem is/was,
that the Black democratic vote, and some of the dreamy liberal white vote, went to Obama only because he's Black, and that 's where Hillary lost.

(does anyone seriously think that if Obama were an ordinary white candidate, he would have beaten Hillary on the basis of his experience and his *well-thought-out* stance on substantive issues ?!?

Bennett's post on the Corner was great, but I have an awful feeling that Obama may win in November. Especially if Hillary runs as his veep.

G-d help my country.

Gregg:

As things are looking now, McCain should blow Obama out of the water.

The Democrats didn't bother to vette Obama and Michelle, but the Republicans aren't blinded by prejudice or soft racism, and you can be sure that Obama has many more radical buddies in the closet.

Real Americans don't appreciate their presidential candidates playing footsie with America and Israel hating bigots, and unrepentant terrorists.

I do believe that a black, Hispanic, Jew, whatever, can be elected to our highest office. But not if that person is a radical leftist.

Soccer Dad:

Thanks for the link. Nice punchy article, right on the mark. Obamna is a deeply partisan radical leftist disguised as a bi-partisan liberal. In short, he's a fraud.

Jake:

One of the most disturbing aspects of the Jeremiah Wright episode is that he was honored by the NAACP. I have yet to see a group of black Christian minsters rise to denounce this vile race-baiter.

Maybe it's happened, but I have not seen such a protest. In fact, all I've seen are black defenders twisting decency and truth to defend this hate monger and his applauding congregation.

Very depressing.

Michelle Obama is toxic, she's Lady Macbeth, so filled with hate for this country and for whites that it oozes from her pores.

She will help destroy his candidacy because she can't change the past and is unable to keep her mouth shut.

Baruch HaShem.

Listen, McCain has a strong independent base in CA. And he's going to spend lots of time in this state. Florida is not at all secure for Obama. The senior citizens, retired Jews, who never miss a vote, are not dumb, they know an enemy when confronted with one.

Vedaal:

If there were an American equivalent of Margaret Thatcher running, she probably win in a landslide ...

The Democrats do not give birth to such a politician, a hawk in matters of national security. They pump out gutless appeasers.

Dr. Carol:

Hillary as Veep. Hmmm. I can't see Michelle allowing that to happen. It will undercut her authority. And let's not forget that Bill is no longer top dog. In fact, he's dog chow. I don't believe the Obama campaign wants that baggage.

But you never know.

Whilst climbing the greasy leftist pole, obama collected and name checked all the usual leftist cranks and causes. Now with the ultimate prize in sight he and his even more rabidly liberal wife have but a short time to divest themselves of their unpalatable collection of friends and beliefs. It is up to all of us blogger types to keep hammering away at the fact that this man is a dangerous fraud and not what he attempts to seem.

Posted by: thud at June 4, 2008 03:47 AM

Thud:

Well said. Seraphic Secret will never let up on the dangerous fraud Obama.

Except when we're writing about movies.

I enjoy the film posts immensely...a great diversion from life in nulabour Britain.

Thud:

Glad you enjoy our movie posts. Too bad there's nothing for me to write about regarding British films, but, alas, you're most prominent film directors and writers are second rate talents and Marxist spouting idiots.

The people who produce all the Jane Austen TV films are pretty good. Karen and I really like "Cranford." Another TV production.

Hard to argue with you I'm afraid...since the various Ealing comedies,Powell and Pressburger and the odd other we havn't had much to shout about. But as a Brit of a certain age I waited as a child for American films on the t.v. at weekends and grew to love the stars and the whole hollywood world...it's just such a pitty it has betrayed both itself and us of late.

I'm afraid I disagree. The Dems are NOT sacrificing their presidential aspirations this year. In fact, they will probably win.

Why? Partly because the security folks are victims of their own success. There have been no more 9/11 attacks in 7 years.

So naturally enough America rolls over and goes back to sleep. The Dems calculate (I think) that the next election will be on domestic issues -- on the economy -- and that's typically a winning issue for Democrats.

Nor do the Republicans give a damn about the issue. What was the big issue in 2006? Immigration reform! That's a lot of what the base is screaming about. Do you see anyone up in arms about the two wars we are actually fighting as people were over immigration?

I will vote Mccain to keep the faith with the servicepeople overseas, but the fact is I think that maybe 10% of the American people care about that. A very large percentage just want the Iraq /Afghanistan war to just go away. And they naively believe it WILL go away if they just pull out all the troops.

And another sad truth -- if you go to a site like DailyKos -- is that there is a sizeable segment of American voters who are more afraid of *you* than they are of Islamic terrorists or of Iranians or Russians or Chinese or what not.

It seems to me that every 20-30 years or so a new generation of public-school-educated kiddies come of age and vote for a Carter/Obama type who is full of starry-eyed idealism. Then, after a few years of defeat and humiliation, they figure it out and vote in a Reagan. But first they have to learn firsthand why it is that what they learned in university doesn't work in real life. It's too bad that the lives of Iraqis and Afghanis are the cost of that education.

Respectfully,

Brian P.

Brian:

Thanks so much for your articulate comment.

You might be right. Let's hope not.

Meanwhile, the more Obama talks, the more foolish does he look.

But like you say, this cluelessness appeals to the true believers.
