It's up and it's a thing of beauty, an inspired and inspiring collection plucked from Jewish cyberspace by one of the essential bloggers:

Daled Amos hosts Haveil Havalim #172: The Old Fogey Edition.

I can relate.

Old Fogey, I mean. We've been blogging since May 2004—but feels like for-evuh.

Anyhoo.

We'd like to thank Daled Amos for including Seraphic Secret's Ariel and Daf Yomi.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

Gene Harlow says: “Jack insists that I contribute to Haveil Havalim, 'cause he admires... my mind.”

And who could argue with the erudite Gene Harlow, certainly not I.

Ironic you used the word 'plucked' under that photo. Yowza, they really attacked their eyebrows back in the day.

That's about as deep as I'm going to get today.

Jack:

Good attitude.

Alice:

Many, many stars of that period had no eyebrows at all. The studios usually shaved the eyebrows in order to pencil in the specific look they wanted for each film. After a few shavings, as you know, eyebrows no longer grow back.

For a good example, take a look at photos of Lana Turner. Her eyebrows are constantly changing from the 30's to the 60's. MGM shaved her eyebrows when she was put under contract.

You've given me the idea to blog about Hollywood Eyebrows. Thanks so much.

Do you mean Jean Harlow?

Jonathan:

Yes, I do. Thanks for the correction. I've fixed it in the post.

I can barely spell my own name.
