I think your story underestimates the evil that is Samir Kuntar. When I wrote my post, "Who is Samir Kuntar", I quoted from Smadar Haran Kaiser, whose family was destroyed by this monster:
"They held Danny and Einat while they searched for me and Yael, knowing there were more people in the apartment. I will never forget the joy and the hatred in their voices as they swaggered about hunting for us, firing their guns and throwing grenades. [Emphasis mine-SW] I knew that if Yael cried out, the terrorists would toss a grenade into the crawl space and we would be killed. So I kept my hand over her mouth, hoping she could breathe. As I lay there, I remembered my mother telling me how she had hidden from the Nazis during the Holocaust. "This is just like what happened to my mother," I thought.

As police began to arrive, the terrorists took Danny and Einat down to the beach. There, according to eyewitnesses, one of them shot Danny in front of Einat so that his death would be the last sight she would ever see. That Israel would release this animal who has promised to return to Jihad upon his release is a disgrace and a tragedy.

if the current leadership is too dense,
then maybe the individual IDF soldiers
can learn from this,
and not take any more live prisoners,

where Sunni suicide bombers were burned/buried with pig's blood,
and publicized,
so the would-be suicide bombers could be shaken out of their delusionally infantile and hedonistic visions of their afterlife ...

How disconcerting is it that they ignored the security establishment??

These are them men and women on the front lines fighting the enemy....and yet they ignore them only for political gain.

It seems Israel's leadership sinks to new lows on a daily basis.....just like our equity markets...the only difference being that eventually our markets will bottom out and it only seems when this bunch hits bottom, they keep digging.

This really should be a swap of corpses. I do not know if Israel retains the death penalty. I assume not if Samir is still breathing today.

If I am correct, they probably kept Kuntar alive for the purpose of the ultimate bargaining chip.

However, in this deal, Israel gives everything and Hezbollah, gives what it wants....

Besides the security dangers this brings upon Israel, the Arabs have to be rubbing their hands, because they know they are dealing with weaklings.

And, if ME history teaches anything, showing the Arabs weakeness is very dangerous and deadly.

Kuntar will receive what he deserves. If not today, than tomorrow and if not then, well it is coming.

We studied this Psalm last night and I couldn't stop thinking of this 'swap'.

From Psalm 5:

O Lord, in the morning shalt Thou hear my voice; in the morning will I order my prayer unto Thee, and will look forward.

If Samir Kuntar and those who support him or aid him aren't men of 'blood and deceit', then no one is.

This whole things makes me sick and it seems to me to be an open invitation to continue to kidnap hostages because they make such nice bargaining chips.

As hateful as this makes me feel, Israel should be swapping Kuntar's dead body for Goldwasser and Regev.
