The Benefits of Terror

This from Steven Plaut's fine blog The Zionist Conspiracy. Read and you will understand that Israel cannot defeat her jihadist enemies with policies that reward those who murder Jews.

Batsheva Unterman Z'L had to undergo long periods of fertility treatment before she was able to conceive. But at last she and her husband had a baby. Five months ago, Baby Efrat was born, a healthy little girl. Yesterday, Baby Efrat's Mom took her for a checkup in the clinic for babies in downtown Jerusalem. When they were finished, Mom put Efrat in her stroller and went out into the street. Mom strapped Baby Efrat down in her baby seat in the car and hopped into the driver's side. The injured terrorist inside the bulldozer had stopped the vehicle, but suddenly started on his rampage again.
Batsheva was murdered by the terrorist, as she was crushed by the bulldozer, which struck her car. Baby Efrat was rescued by a passerby. She had never even broken into a cry when the car was struck.
Will the terrorist's family be expelled from Israel? Will their house in East Jerusalem be destroyed or turned over to Jewish "settlers" as a place to live?
No, grasshopper. Haim Ramon, Kadima politician, confirmed on TV yesterday that the terrorist's family will be able to collect survivor benefits for themselves from Israel's social security administration (the National Insurance Institute), like any other Israeli who passes away.
Just like families of terrorists with Israeli citizenship who died while murdering before him.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

This is just so sick and perverted.

insanity !!!! someone please stop the insanity !!

Kishke, Daniel:

I have said that for the first time in my life I can imagine the end of the Jewish State. With suicidal policies like these no state can survive the jihadist assault for the blood of Jews is rendered not just cheap, but profitable.

It is one thing not to bulldoze the house, but to pay the SOB's family money?
That is a slap in the face to the victims!

There used to be a guy who sent money to the family of homicide bombers. His name was Saddam. We know what his fate was!

Posted by: Ari Miller at July 7, 2008 12:26 PM

That is absolutely appalling.

Have you seen the media on this? The last "report" I saw was concerned about the rights of the terrorist:
How could they have shot him? Couldn't they have stopped him without killing him? Supposedly, he wasn't a terrorist, merely a madman!
It was disgusting.
Even for supposed "balanced reporting"-- this hit an all time low.
No interviews of the victims. Of a husband who lost his wife. Or videos of a little baby whose mother who sacrificed her life so her baby could live...
(Could you please send more about how you married Karen, or movie trivia-- powerless in the face of this evil, your golden posts always help lift one's spirits.)

Ari:

I can guarantee that Israel ends up paying blood money to the families of homicide terrorists. How? As I blogged a few days ago, Israel transfers millions of dollars every month into Gaza to prop up the economy.

Here's the link:http://www.seraphicpress.com/archives/2008/06/olmert_transfer.php

P.S. Karen and I ran into your father today in Glatt Mart.

Yael:

There is no balanced reporting about Israel in the MSM, only degrees of progressive Jew-hatred.

I'm working on a Hollywood post about, get this, plucked eyebrows.

This goes beyond the pale.

This is beyond insanity, but sadly nothing too new.

We saw it in New York for years when the local government and even the police department tried to convince the people that it couldn't and maybe even shouldn't enforce the law.

Thankfully, the people never bought completely and when they got angry enough they elected Rudy Giuliani who enforced the "broken windows" theory that overlooked no crime.

So instead of rewarding terrorists, or making excuses for broken cease fires, Israel needs to elect someone with the courage to enforce the law. Anything else sacrifices the lives of the people in favor of political gain or useless ideology.

we have to stop thinking that after we present the right, logical, rational point of view, the government- or the media- or any group- will finally come around to the truth.
Let's intensify our prayers to Hashem, because Ein od Milvado, and Ein LaHashem maatzor bein rav uvein m'eat- there are no obstacles before Hashem, whether they seem large or small(Shmuel Aleph).Of course we must defend ourselves- "Haba l'hargecha..." But Let's focus on spiritual efforts, to help merit the end of our suffering and the geulah shleima that we have been promised. Robert and Karen, there are so many terrific, sincere people who participate in this forum. Couldn't we start a united effort in some specific, defined area- perhaps giving others the benefit of the doubt, or avoiding lashon hara- and strengtehn one another with divrei Torah, personal incidents etc on the topic?
I remember in th 80's when the first Earth Day started. The whole "green lobby" was so tiny, looked at as a fringe group- and look at their huge numbers and influence now.
Perhaps our group could create such a ripple effect in the spiritual sphere- as a zechus for Ariel's pure and holy neshama- and for the benefit of all.
What do you think?

We were in Israel eating falafel and watching the news on TV as this all unfolded. In the days following we heard many discussions on the whole situation and believe me, there are many there (and here too) who are simply sickened by the fact that the terrorist's house will not be razed and that (as you have pointed out) the family will receive survivor benefits. I just don't get it.
