Best of the Jewish Blogosphere #178: The Tu b'Av Edition

Ma'ayan Ariel reads Haveil Havalim every week, and so should you.
I should be packing for my trip to Israel on the Nefesh B'nefesh flight and to attend the First International Jewish Blogger's Conference, but Haveil Havalim #178, The Tu b'Av edition, hosted by The Rebbetzin's Husband, just popped up so now I have an excuse to delay packing.
We'd like to thank the Rebbetzin's Husband for including two Seraphic Secret posts: My Infidel Jewish Doctor, and Jihad Against Sexy Fruit & Vegetables.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
I've never bookmarked a blog before, I have a couple of normal starting places (insty, hugh, talkleft) and several that I know well enough that my fingers know the way (Rachel Lucas, Kim Du Toit).
I've just bookmarked yours. Thanks!
I graduated from UCLA's film school (the producer's program) but got out of the business in about 5 years. I had several conversations that shocked me. I was trying to sell movies based on comic books long after they'd been shown to be consistent money makers. But they didn't want to exploit the properties, they wanted to satirize them. Thus, the first Hulk movie, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Catwoman, Mystery Men, etc.
Maybe one day they'll figure out that movies about simple truths, where good is good and bad is bad, make a lot more than po-mo relativist drek. But it will probably take a generational change.

Ma'ayan Ariel definitely has her mother's eyes and Maybelline eyelashes! Lovely.
I wish you and Karen a "nesiah tovah"; "telchu b'shalom, tachzeru b'shalom."

God Bless you and keep you and your loves ones strong and healthy.
Keep speaking out...fight evil where you see it and don't lose hope just because some of our fellow Jews are the worst liberal stooges.

My first time commenting on a blog. Your article on being a Jewish Republican was forwarded to me by a friend of a friend, etc. You might enjoy reading "Islamikaze" by my dear friend Raphael Israeli, Professor Emeritus Hebrew U., Islam expert. Baruch Hashem. Charlotte
