Seraphic Radio Interview

Silent film star Colleen Moore does a radio show with an American soldier.
If you'd like to listen to my conversation with talk show host Judean Eve, broadcast on Israel National Radio, Arutz Sheva, here's the link.
I had to get up at 5am in order to daven, eat some breakfast, and guzzle a pot of coffee, thus making myself somewhat coherent.
Yours truly cannot listen to the interview. I hate the sound of my own voice, and my thick Brooklyn accent make me ca-ringe.
But please, be my guest, knock yourself out.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Am I crazy or is that just the first hour and you are in the second?

Alice:
Hit your refresh button. I corrected the link to the second hour.
Thanks so much.

Yes - thanks for sparing me the trouble of having to listen to the first half of the show!

In spite of the early hour, you sounded great, Robert -- Brooklyn accent and all! :)

Now knocking myself out... "Seven Samurai" was one of my faves! Started me on a string of Toshiro Mifune movies, which inspired my contribution to the "death of the first born" segment of our Pesach seder, because only Mifune knew how to die for several full minutes. (This is probably why G-d gave me only sons. Boys are not freaked out by lengthy death scenes.)
Quite an enjoyable interview, even though your Brooklyn accent has gone wimpy. The folks back home in NY would be aghast.
(Sigh.) I miss the old days of pro-America Hollywood...

Rutimizrachi:
Glad to meet another “Seven Samurai” enthusiast.
It's true, Mifune really died excruciatingly slowly, and brilliantly.
His American counterpart is the late Lee Marvin, who, in many Westerns and war films, died so slowly and with such over the top drama that the other players are completely upstaged.
My Brooklyn accent has gone wimpy?
Oh man, now I do need some serious therapy.

I started to listen to the interview, and then realized that it would be the better part of an hour. I started getting that anxious feeling as there is much to be done for a house full of Shabbat guests.
What to do?
I set the volume full throttle, placed the laptop on the countertop and proceeded to put up the chicken soup, while listening to the show.
And then this overwhelming feeling came over me. A memory of my mother doing exactly the same thing listening to Jewish talk on WEVD-a.m.-in-the-morning. (Remember Art Raymond anyone?) Of smells and Shabbos preparations and special treats. Sweet, sweet times.
I listened that way to the entire show. Soup's up and kugel's in the oven. I enjoyed the interview, and as someone raised in the greatest borough in NYC (indeed, in the world), all I can say is, What Brooklyn accent?
Shabbat Shalom and thank you for that.

Baila:
Thanks so much for going to so much trouble to listen to yours truly go blah, blah, blah.
WEVD. Karen's father, HaRav, HaGaon Pinchas Tzvi Singer A'H, gave a Yiddish shiur on that station for years and years.
