Outrage: Palin Disinvited to UN Iranian Protest
"Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadenijad has been quite clear of his intentions to acquire nuclear weapons; his anti-Semitic rants and desire to annihilate Israel are well-known. Today Senators Obama and Biden and their supporters have handed Ahmadenijad a big win. What should have been a strong effort by the Jewish community to stand up and show the world that we are united in our fight against this madman has instead been hijacked by those with a political agenda. This is a very sad day for the Jewish community.
“We are extremely disappointed that in response to political pressure from partisan organizations, Governor Palin has been disinvited to the "Stop Iran" rally. In addition, we are disappointed that neither Senator Obama nor Senator Biden chose to participate in this important event. Yet again they have missed an opportunity to stand up to Iran and have their voices heard. This is but another example of why Senator Obama continues to have a problem in the Jewish community," said Brooks. "In the more than 20 years I have worked in the Jewish community, this is one of the biggest black marks on our community that I can remember. That we can't put partisan differences aside to come together on something as important as this is absolutely outrageous. It is sad and disappointing."
— Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) Executive Director Matt Brooks
The Jewish, ahem, leaders, who disinvited Governor Palin should be ashamed. They are without honor, without wisdom. It was Senator Clinton who made this a partisan issue when she refused to appear at the U.N. rally alongside Governor Palin.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Obama machine pressured Hillary not show. She only looks small and petty in this entire affair. And of course, Obama could not care less. His fear and hatred of the Clinton's is well known.
But let's be clear, that's how Obama and the ruthless forces who pull his strings do business, strong-arm Chicago style.
And this indicates how much Obama and his handlers understand or care about the Persian nuclear threat to Israel and the entire region.
They care far more about partisan politics than Israel's' survival.
Please see Soccer Dad's excellent analysis of this latest outrage from the Democrats.
And don't miss Wolf Howling's trenchant observations on the Palin Disinvite and the unhinged left.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
Does the multicultural paintjob, who thrives on international attention, seize on this opportunity to lecture a society about the pitfalls of "clinging to their guns and religion"?
[crickets chirping]
That's the difference between principle and ideology. Call this Obama's biggest flip-flop yet.

I don't blame the organizers. They have to maintain an image of bipartisanship.
The real weasels are the organizations like J-Street and NJDC who put Democratic before Jewish and who, instead acting as intermediaries to de-politicize the situation, they politicized it even more.
It's no coincidence that J-Street was just created. It's financed by Alan Solomont, who is also a major Obama fundraiser. The point of J-Street is to make being anti-Israel acceptable to the Jewish community. There's no other way to describe the organization.

Soccer Dad:
Thanks so much for the valuable input.
I share your analysis of J-Street, but I don't feel so charitable towards Malcolm Hoenlein and his chevra. They should have stood up to the Kapos of J-street for the Iranian threat should trump partisanship.
It's a telling moment though. Obama and his followers claim to be the great uniters. I believe that many Jews will now see that Obama is perhaps the most partisan candidate in recent memory, in short a fraud. In his world, as always with the left, there is unification only as long as you agree with their radical positions.
In the end, we can be grateful for this train wreck caused by the Democrats and the anti-Israeli J-Street. Obama already has a problem with the Jewish vote.
Now, it will get much worse.
And Governor Palin, a strong supporter of Israel, looks better than ever after her disgraceful treatment.

Jeremaih:
Obama is consistent. Let's not forget that this is a man who spent over 20-years as a proud member of a Jew-hating church.
BO was only "outraged" by Jeremiah Wright's hate-mongering when his polls started to dip.

Sources: Intense Pressure Led To Palin UN Snub
CBS 2 HD Has Learned Democrats Threatened To Attack Jewish Groups' Tax Exempt Status Over VP Nominee Invite

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Hillary Clinton won't be speaking at Monday's anti-Iran rally at the United Nations -- and neither will Republican Sarah Palin or any other politicians for that matter.
The reason? A heated behind the scenes tug-of-war.
Sources tell CBS 2 HD that a decision to disinvite Palin from the high profile rally after Clinton pulled out in a huff came as the result of intense pressure from Democrats.
"This is insulting. This is embarrassing, especially to Gov. Palin, to me and I think it should be to every single New Yorker," Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, told CBS 2 HD.
Sources say the axes were out for Palin as soon as Sen. Clinton pulled out because she did not want to attend the same event as the Republican vice presidential candidate.
"I have never seen such raw emotion -- on both sides," said someone close to the situation.
The groups sponsoring the rally against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking at the UN were reportedly told, "it could jeopardize their tax exempt status" if they had Palin and not Clinton or Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden on hand.
So all politicians were disinvited, most prominently, Palin.
"It's an absolute shame that this has happened," Hikind said. "To threaten organizations … to threaten the Conference of Presidents that if you don't withdraw the invitation to Gov. Palin we're going to look into your tax exempt status … that's McCarthyism."
Another Jewish group tried to step into the breach by inviting Palin to a different protest a day earlier.
"I'm absolutely appalled at the behavior of the Democrats," said Bob Kunst of Defenders.net. "I'm a Democrat and for the first time in my life I'm going to vote Republican. I can't take it anymore."
As for Sen. Clinton, she brushed right past CBS 2 HD's Lou Young when he tried to ask her about the issue on Thursday night.
Lou Young: "Were the organizers of Monday's rally right to depoliticize it?"
Clinton walked past Young, said "Thank you all very much" and started hugging people.
Clinton's people tell CBS 2 HD she intends to make some statement of support for the protestors. She is also expected to attack Ahmadinejad's pro-nuke, anti-Israel stance.

Well, Soccer Dad:
--I-- consider myself DEMOCRATIC before JEWISH. I'd rather marry a Democratic gentile rather than a Neo-Conservative Jew. The simple reason is because with what Judaism in the USA has become these days, I find the Democratic Party much better represents my sense of Tsedaka (Mi Chamocha), concern and VALUES. Thus, It's no surprise to me anymore that so many Jews here support a Neo-Nazi, anti-Semetic, vindictive b*tch to be Vice-President, even in the blue states (any more than it is that the dopey Gentiles here support the Palestinians' rights to independence, and then wonder why Hamas and Hezbolah get into power and terrorize more Americans and other people around the world).
And as far as being a "real" Jew, I've been Bar Mitzvahed, done a Jewish confirmation program, been to Israel three times & am pro-Israel, contributed multiple times to UJA and other Jewish organizations and just took days off to celebrate the High Holy days...not to mention attending MULTIPLE events at my local JCC over the past year. So don't give me any crap about being inauthentic about my Jewishness.
So much for the "tribe" sticking together any longer.
