Why Obama Might Lose the Election
Speechmaker Obama talks about an era of bipartisanship, He speaks powerfully about the destructive politics of red and blue states.
Politician Obama has toed his party's line more reliably than almost any other Democrat in US politics. He has a near-perfect record of voting with his side. He has the most solidly left-wing voting history in the Senate. His one act of bipartisanship, a transparency bill co-sponsored with a Republican senator, was backed by everybody on both sides of the aisle. He has never challenged his party's line on any issue of substance.
Speechmaker Obama talks a lot about finding ways to move beyond the bloody battlegrounds of the “culture wars” in America; the urgent need to establish consensus on the emotive issue of abortion.
Politician Obama's support for abortion rights is the most extreme of any Democratic senator. In the Illinois legislature he refused to join Democrats and Republicans in supporting a Bill that would require doctors to provide medical care for babies who survived abortions. No one in the Senate - not the arch feminist Hillary Clinton nor the superliberal Edward Kennedy - opposed this same humane measure.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
"In the Illinois legislature he refused to join Democrats and Republicans in supporting a Bill that would require doctors to provide medical care for babies who survived abortions."
Has a more disturbing and depressing sentence ever been written? How exactly are we different than the Ancient Greeks who used to put their unwanted babies on the hillside for the Gods to take? I suppose the abandoned children of the Ancient Greeks at least had the slim chance that someone would pick them up and bring them home. Heartbreaking.

If Obama loses this election and, imo, that's a big if; it will be because there is not a single aspect of his existence that does not have controversy associated with it. It is stunning to think that the person who would be President is a person of whom what is not known with any degree of certainty is so vastly greater than what is.

I sure hope he is right. Living in ultra-blue state, I find it hard to be optimistic but at least there's a glimmer of hope.

Alice:
Keep in mind that Obama and those who support murdering infants who survive abortions are known as “progressives.”
Where I come from, it's called an atrocity.

Kae:
Thanks so much for your articulate comment.
I'd like to remind everyone that BO was an active member of a racist, America and Jew-hating church for over 20 years.
If a white Republican candidate belonged to such a vile church his career would be over in the blink of an eye.
If a white Republican was friends and political allies with American terrorist Bill Ayers, his career would be over.
If a white Republican was financially involved with Tony Reszko, his career would be over.
And properly so.
But BO gets away with it.
BO is Americas first an affirmative action presidential candidate.

Dr. Carol:
A Democratic victory in '08 should have been a shoo-in. It's pretty clear that Hillary as VP would have swung the election decisively for the Dems. But BO and his wife hate and are intimidated by the Clintons and chose Slow Joe Biden instead.
Most important, every time BO opens his mouth sans teleprompter, he spews nonsense.
The more the American people see and hear of BO the less they like him.

I'm wondering if anyone would care to read and comment on article below regarding the Treasury's actions which may inadvertently encourage rabid speculation during current economic woes. If you can get over author's lefty parting shots I think his concerns are worthy of consideration. Also think we need to send a message to John McCain asking him to take a bold stand on the economy if he is to win. Hank Greenberg, former CEO of AIG, has made a very reasoned analysis of whats gone wrong at AIG and a sensible plan to save it. In fact his analysis and plan could be applied to the economy as a whole. In short, allow bridge loans (at a price) and allow companies the breathing room to sell off assets. See the interview again tonight, the 16th of September, on Closing Bell.
