Commandos Storm Chabad House in Mumbai

chopper_wideweb__470x308,0.jpg
Indian special forces rappel from a helicopter to the Chabad house in Mumbai.

Storming strongly fortified positions held by terrorists who have no moral compunctions about slaughtering innocent men, women and children is, at best, playing the devil's arithmetic. We can only hope that the Indian special forces have the proper intel and are well trained.

Once again, Jews, no matter on what shores they stand, become targets of Islamo Nazis. Look for the talking heads to blame Israel, the Mossad, President Bush, the war in Iraq, and America's "powerful Israel lobby" for this latest atrocity from the religion of peace.

Indian commando forces inside the Chabad House were trying to eradicate the building of terrorists, Israel Radio reported early on Friday.
The rescue operation has been underway for over two hours.
According to the report, gun shots were being fired every few minutes and Special Forces continued to enter the five-storey building via the roof, rappelling from military helicopters.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

when Jews are taken hostage, anywhere in the world, only Jews should risk thier lives, al kidush hashem, to save them. I respect the courage of the indian commandos, but i would take any single israeli commando over 10 of indias best. The Jews have the experience, training, and sensitivity to make a life saving mission a success. I dont like the idea that the indian commandos call this " clearing, or mopping up operations" these are missions to save lives - to be done in 3-4 minutes time. that they are still there after 2 hours tells me, sadly, that the mission failed. Israeli Government should have sent in our finest hours ago.

Jay, the attacks took place on Indian soil, against Indian citizens and legal residents of the country. As I see it, the Indian government has no choice but to send in its own forces in order to assert its authority and sovereignty against the terrorists.

Nevertheless, I do wish that the Indian government had coordinated with the Israeli government, so that Israel's armed forces could have gone in and done what they did at Entebbe.

I wonder if the idea even occurred to our current government.

Ha'aretz reported that Israel offered, twice, and that India politely refused their help.

At some point last night there was a "white flag" waved from one of the windows, which looked to be a pair of tzitzit. Now Indian TV is reporting it as such.

More effective, however, would be prayer and charity in merit of and for the safety of Gavriel Noach ben Freida Bluma and Rivka bas Yehudis Holtzberg.

From IBN

Mumbai: Five hostages have been killed by terrorists holed up inside Nariman House, a Jewish centre, in Colaba (Mumbai) even as National Security Guard commandos have secured major parts of the building.

""We had taken over the second floor of the house when grenade was launched from above. Three hostages were killed by terrorists before they moved upstairs. NSG commandos moved upstairs to kill two terrorists on the fourth floor. Terrorists killed two hostages in this floor," NSG Director General Jyoti Krishan Dutt said.

"Nariman House charge will be given to CRPF and Mumabi Police after the operation is over," Dutt said. "We are on the last floor and any time we will finish this operation," he said.

The fate of terrorists is still unclear.

The Jewish centre had earlier been badly damaged after a strong explosion took place at the third floor of the building.

I am really angry. This is so very wrong. And I have little faith that the world will take the appropriate steps to eradicate this menace.

Can someone explain why the commando raid on the Chabad Center in Nariman house was broadcast in real time on Mumbai TV?

Is there trustworthy intel that terrorists don't watch TV, or something?

Thanks for your hard-hitting Jewish Press article. I have lectured at Bar Ilan and other institutions on Torah Psychology. I am former IDF and hope to be again, observant, and also an NRA member. I was surprised that you lost your son to cancer. I am very sorry. This doesn't go away. But I really and truly believe you will see him at "tchiat ha metim".

I believe that Israel is a psychotic nation with enuf intellectual gifts to sustain itself as a proper gentile (Japhet) nation. I am inadequately trying to wake us up with my TorahUniverse.com website. Please have an open minded look at it. You are in a position to help by promoting the truth. We will all soon find ourselves engulfed in a war against Amalek. The sooner we realize that we are God's righteous warrior priests, the sooner we will comply with the Torah as God gave it. And the less painful the path to the ultimate victory will be for us. Let me know what you think - with both barrels.

Thanks,

Ron Singer

Indian commandos are the best and most experienced in the world. They have actual combat experience in Kashmir, Punjab and in North east India. They were the best for the job.
There's no way Israeli commandos could have done a better job.
