Where is the Peace?

No on two-state.

There is already a Palestinian state and it is called Gaza, an Islamic terrorist state dedicated to the destruction of Israel and the elimination of Jews everywhere. It's in their official covenant, perhaps the most racist, genocidal, Jew-hating document of modern times.

Establishing another Palestinian reich in Judea and Samaria would be nothing short of national suicide for the Jewish state. In fact, Israel has only one Gaza option: a serious military operation against this Islamist entity.

Seraphic Secret is one with The 18.

Karen and I wish all our friends and relatives a happy third night of Chanukah. And if you want the perfect Chanukah gift—excellent for Christmas too—here's my shameless plug.

And finally, this piece about the Conservative of the Year. Guaranteed to make Liberal heads explode.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

I love Sarah Palin. What is funny is this talk about Carolin Schlossberg being the "perfect Senatorial candidate" while the same papers trashed Palin for her "inexperience".

I hope we see more of her.

Robert

The clips above are very convincing. However I read the manifesto of "The 18" and as I see it the movement is invalidated by the line "What are the consequences (of a two state solution) for those of us who carry a Zionist vision of a Jewish homeland from the river to the sea?" This implies that the motivation behind being opposed to a two state solution is not that concessions lead to violence against Israel (as the clip suggests) but that two state means an end to the dream of a greater Israel.

I do not understand how the world can see what has happened to Gaza and still insist on "bring peace forward" (ie, forcing Israel to capitulate further). Or how they can lob rockets daily into Israel and yet the world only condemns Israel for responding.

I have heard that Israel will respond shortly. What a cesspool Gaza has become.

The world will only consider "peace" to have been achieved in the Middle East when Israel is gone...

Happy Hanukah Avrechs! Miracles happen.

It is a shame that we cannot nuke the entire middle east. Then we could solve the Islam problem forever.

Avi:

Actually, history has shown that a very small amount of force goes a long way when confronting the Arab and Muslim world. Arabs never actually win armed conflicts... they only win when their enemies decide not to fight. When they do decide to fight, it's usually over in a few short days.

Every Arab gain in the Middle East has been "won" via concessions given to them by people with superior military and economic power.

If you think that's backwards and crazy... well, you're right.

But the point is, there's no need for nukes to defeat the enemy here. Good old fashioned conventional warfare with a determined people behind the military will do the trick and fast.

I just came across this little gem in the Jerusalem Post: Hamas pushes for Sharia punishments.

Such enlightened people, our neighbors to the south.

I like Sarah Palin too, but don't forget that she is not from American royalty, not wealthy, did not go to an Ivy League college. Basically, she's everything Democrats claim to be and never are. Therefore she is a subject of ridicule and Caroline is, probably, NY's next Senator.

Makes perfect sense.

Ted:

These are not mutually exclusive. Israel needs defensible and common sense national borders. From the Jordan to the Mediterranean is not a lot of real estate—about the size of New Jersey—especially when compared to the surrounding Arab Muslim states.

Bill:

The current Israeli government has no coherent strategy in regard to Gaza. If Olmert & Co. do attack Gaza, rest assured it will be ineffective.

Thanks so much. Happy Chanukah to you too.

I agree with Jake, it is not necessary to use nukes, unless nukes are used against us by, well, Iran.

If you look at the history of Arab-Israeli wars, you will discern a troubling pattern. The Arabs always get squashed on the battlefield, but before they are forced to formally surrender the U.N.—G-d what a useless org.— moves in and declares a cease fire, thereby saving the Arabs from war's reality.

There is a reason Roosevelt and Churchill would accept nothing less than an unconditional surrender from German and Japan at the end of WWII. The symbolic value is all important.

At some point the Arabs-Muslims will be beaten on the battlefield and then they must surrender or face complete annihilation of their military forces and their national infrastructure.

Rahel:

Most Westerners don't realize that Islam is an imperialist religion that has spread its ideology through war, oppression and intimidation.

Sharia is just another word for Gulag.
