Hamas: What You See is What You See

As the great American abstract painter Frank Stella once observed regarding art: “What you see is what you see.”

I see that we are living in 1938.

Terrorist Islam threatens Western civilization. And once again the chattering classes—ascendant in the Obama administration—urge appeasement and deny the Jew-hatred that motivates this grotesque ideology.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

Great video, Robert -- I just had to borrow it...

I have felt that we are in 1938 for some time. With Iran on a full speed march to acquiring nuclear weapons, saying what they will do - and the politicians urge "peace" and diplomacy. While they continue to build.

If you read Wm Manchester's book The Last Lion - ostensibly a biography on Winston Churchill but filled with the Europe of the 1930s, and how Britain and France had at least a half dozen chances to be rid of Hitler - and at minimal cost - I can't help but wonder if historians 70 years from now will view these times...

"The more things change...."

By all means, spread the word.

Speaking of 1938, Ze'ev Jabotinsky said this to the Jews of Warsaw on Tisha B'Av in 1938: "For three years I have been imploring you, Jews of Poland, the crown of world Jewry, appealing to you, warning you unceasingly that the catastrophe is nigh. My hair has turned white and I have grown old over these years, for my heart is bleeding that you, dear brothers and sisters, do not see the volcano which will soon begin to spew forth its fires of destruction. I see a horrible vision. Time is growing short for you to be spared. I know you cannot see it, for you are troubled and confused by everyday concerns... Listen to my words at this, the twelfth hour. For God's sake: let everyone save himself, so long as there is time to do so, for time is running short."

As I was watching the video, I noticed the microphones and the thought struck me that even as the Muslims vilify and speak their evil words they must use the inventions of the West. They seek to destroy life rather than to improve it.

I just did a search for the inventor of the microphone. His name was Emile Berliner, a German immigrant who came to America in 1870, when he was almost 19. When he was in his twenties he made improvements to Bell's telephone: "a new type of transmitter which he called a "loose-contact" transmitter, a type of microphone, which increased the volume of the transmitted voice."

His biography also has this little bit of background in it--his father was a Talmudic scholar.

Even as they denounce the United States and the Jews, they must use an invention first developed in this country by a Jew.

I was glad to see that CNN is covering the story about the beheading.

There is a difference between appeasing and talking to your enemy. Chamberlain did the former whereas Ike and Reagan did the latter. Let's see what Obama does.
