Best of the Jewish Blogosphere #210 Plus Seraphic Simcha

Uncle Walt says: “And if you're good little Mousketeers I'll
let you read Haveil Havalim.”
So: it's Sunday here in Los Angeles. I have three choices:
1. Work on latest script.
2. Clean for Pesach.
3. Read Haveil Havalim #210: Locke, Hurley and Starbuck Edition. Presented this week by our fearless leader Jack
4. Shep nachas (Yiddish: bask in joy) and inform all our friends that Offspring #3 is engaged:-)

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

Robert,
You talked about 3 choices; you've listed four. Scrap the script, scrap the Pesach cleaning, peek in on Haveil Havelim, but go for #4 all the way!
What wonderful news! Mazel tov to her and the chattan, and mazel tov to you all!

Everyone:
Karen and I greatly appreciate all your good and generous wishes.
Offspring #3 reads Seraphic Secret—the girlses are complete lurkers—and so she's well aware of your mazal tovs.
Have a happy and kosher Pesach!

" ... Offspring #3 is engaged ... "
Mazel Tov, Mazel Tov
may it be an everlasting bond,
and perfect union of each other's Souls
it is written,
that on the day of the Chuppah, the Souls of the ancestors from both sides,
(parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents)
are present under the Chuppah
some say, that this is the source for the ancient custom of visiting the gravesite of a parent or grandparent before the wedding, - to invite the Soul to be presnt in their Simcha
i don't have a source for how far it extends to other close relatives,
but it seems reasonable that the Souls of siblings would also be present
(at any rate, before the weddings of my 2 sons, i invited the Soul of my daughter to attend ...)
may you and Karen sense the happiness and serenity of the Souls who are visiting from the World of Truth, to be present at the Simcha,
and Ariel among them ...
Mazel Tov, Mazel Tov !!!

Exdem:
My uncle's minhag is to actually visit the graves of his parents before each wedding and invite them to attend.
