We're Shocked, Shocked That Hope & Change = Moral Equivalence

Seraphic Secret is shocked, shocked that a man who was a proud member of a Jew and America-hating Church would, as POTUS, turn against Israel, America's only dependable ally in the middle east.
Seraphic Secret is shocked, shocked that President Barack Obama is making purring noises to Hugo Chavez, a Communist tyrant who is making Jew-hatred an official state doctrine.
No doubt, Roger Cohen, the New York Time's official candidate for Judenrat President—after the tried and true Nazi collaborator George Soros—will be visiting Hugo in the near future and assure us all that the Jews of Venezuela, or what's left of them, are living in a paradise.
Seraphic Secret is shocked, shocked, that a man who kicked off his political career with a fund raiser in the home of American terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn would, as POTUS, cozy up to Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hizbullah, state and non-state terrorists, who have collectively killed and tortured scores of Americans over the past thirty years.
Prairie Fire, a violent manifesto by Bill Ayers dedicated to, among others, RFK assassin Sirhan Sirhan.
Further, does it register with Obama and his, ahem, progressive supporters, that the Weather Underground Communist manifesto, Prairie Fire, authored by Ayers, is dedicated to, among others: Sirhan Sirhan, the Arab terrorist who assassinated Robert F. Kennedy because, complained Sirhan, RFK supported Israel.
Just, y'know, asking.
Seraphic Secret is shocked, shocked, that a man who bad-mouthed Israel's Likud party, would, as POTUS, put the big freeze on the current Likud government.
Seraphic Secret is, however, not shocked that the 78% of American Jews who voted for Barack Obama are still his most enthusiastic supporters. There is a mechanism at work in the human mind that fiercely protects against the ravages of reality, it's called cognitive dissonance.
And now that the Obama foreign policy has been revealed as moral equivalence—Israel, a democratic state, is on the same plane as a radical Arab/Muslim tyranny—American Jews will, true to form, retreat into clinical denial as Obama's policies of appeasement lead to further atrocities against Jews in Israel and abroad.
Unlike the Bush administration, the staff of President Obama is not coordinating its policy on Iran or the greater Middle East with Israel and has not been informing the Jewish state of its plans or recent diplomatic developments in the Mideast, according to sources in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.
The silence extends to U.S. talks with the Palestinians, the sources said.
"Our intention and our hope as we go to Washington is to establish close intimate cooperative relationships on these sensitive matters," a top Netanyahu official told WND yesterday.
The official was speaking about Netanyahu's May 18 visit to the White House.
According to other sources in the prime minister's office, Israel has been obtaining the vast majority of its information regarding U.S. plans and advances for the Middle East from third parties, mostly European diplomats.
This is in stark contrast to Bush's eight-year presidency, during which the White House and State Department routinely briefed Israeli counterparts on Middle East affairs to the extent that the majority of official U.S. and Israeli statements on various policy issues were heavily coordinated.

Oh yeah, Seraphic Secret is shocked, shocked that Barack Obama, a man who has zero background in finance—heck, every single line-producer I know in Hollywood has more experience with budgets than the Dear Leader—a man who never created wealth in his entire career, a man who, in fact, is more concerned with redistributing wealth—classic Marxist-Lenin doctrine—is overseeing national deficits to the tune of two trillion dollars in the next four years—in the form of a massive Ponzi scheme.
Confession: I have no idea how much a trillion is, is but I have a feeling that it's uh, a lot. And can somebody tell me, what comes after a trillion—a gazillion? I'm clueless, but something tells me that Obama is cheerily heading that that direction.

The real question is....
How much does the Dear Leader expect to squeeze from the nations wealthy? He can only go to the well, or is it the trough so often.
It's clear that this man abhors personal success and wants to install big daddy government as the true power.
The added danger is that the bill will come due, and it will bring pain for all in the form of massive inflation and a dollar that is practically worthless.
As my sister Gail told me last week: “Its going to be a long 4 years.”

Disagree. This is, after all, a man who has spent his life intensively pursuing personal success.
What Obama seems rather to abhor...and what his core supporters definitely abhor...is success achieved in unapproved ways. If you become influential and wealthy based on your Harvard degree, the contacts you made during your Peace Corps internship and your "public service" as a government official, there's no objection at all. If you have a mechanical engineering degree from Podunk Tech and become wealthy running a small manufacturing business that you started, that's not OK at all.
Much of the rage against Sarah Pailin was based on the fact that she had succeeded in unapproved ways.
There have long been multiple hierarchies of success in American society. (Peter Drucker, when he came to this country from Austria in the 1930s, was amused to find that just about every professional group..business, labor, academia..felt itself unappreciated--which he thought was wonderful because it demonstrated that there was no absolutely dominant class>) The "progressives" of the Obama stamp want to change that and collapse the hierarchies into a single one, to which access will be tightly controlled.

I remember seeing a clip, when Obama was still a senator. The subject was wealth and taxation. Obama's remark has stuck in my mind ever since. He said (poutily, I would say), that his father already had ENOUGH money (so why should he complain about higher taxes???)
The remark and its tone sounded just like the sophomores I knew in college.

The Jewish vote has been a consistent part of the Democratic coalition so I guess we should be thankful only 78% voted for Obama. Robert, how did you manage to swim against that tide?
I fear that most American Jews would not care if Obama stood by while Israel was attacked figuring they can take care of themselves like they have so many times since 1947. I think there are more American evangelicals and Christians that care about the rights of Jews to have a homeland than American Jews. Are abortion rights and public school unions more important to American Jews?
All countries are not on an equal moral plane, especially in the ME. It's scary to think that the closest thing to a legitimate democracy is Iraq. What should be our greatest ally in the ME is surrounded far and wide by major kleptocracies and terrorists.
Let's hope Obama wakes up before there are major deaths in Israel. Of course the press will spin it as the fault of Bush, Cheney, Rice and Bolton.

How is the media coverage for him over there? Is it still wildly enthusiastic or are they starting to treat him like a real President and look at what he is doing/ his plans?
As for the situation here--my guess is that the current government will either do something radical or will just blather on and do nothing at all. I actually think Lieberman's suggestions (redrawing borders based on population distribution) has some merit. Not at all PC, but might be more stable in the long run.
Or I could be wrong.....

I'm not exaggerating.
On TV, late night comedians don't even make jokes about Obama, because, in the words of a Jay Leno writer: “He's far too capable.”
But it's open season on Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejean.

More to the point, a trillion is a million million.
In other words, Obama will have to ruin eight million millionaires to pay for his stimulus package.
Which is pretty much the size of it.
Obama speaks of raising taxes on those "not paying their fair share" to pay for all this. The truth is that there is no level of taxation that can pay for this. It will be "paid for" through massive inflation.

To help you get a handle on a Trillion Dollars, you would have to spend $31,000 a second for a year. Or looking at it another way spending a dollar a second for 31,000 years. Didnt you have a clock that measures time like that>?
