Obama and Mullahs to Celebrate July 4th, Good Times
Neda Salehi Agha Soltan will not be attending a
July 4th barbecue. But her murderers will.
Engagement.
It's the magical concept for Barack Hussein Obama. Because, y'know, he can just charm the Jew-hating (shades of Jeremiah Wright) America-hating (Wright again) mullahs; convince the tyrants to give up their nuclear program and their vow to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth.
Meanwhile, as the Basij and the Revolutionary Guard murder people in the streets, break into homes and arrest alleged enemies of the regime, as Iranian citizens are tortured in black hole prisons, Barack Hussein Obama and the geniuses who run the State Dept. have determined that a happy-go-lucky July 4th bash is just the thing to enlighten our Islamo Nazi buddies.
I think this Iranian dissident, who begs Obama to get involved, is going to be a bit disappointed.
But have no fear, the state controlled media in the U.S.—except Fox News, the lone dissenting voice—will assure us that Barack Hussein Obama knows exactly what he's doing because he's the smartest, most handsome, most wise POTUS who ever lived. Evan Thomas of Newsweek definitely nailed it with this bit of orgiastic pagan frenzy: “...he's sort of a God.”
Let's contrast Ronald Regan on Poland with Obama on Iran:
Yup, what could be more appropriate than a show of solidarity between America and a totalitarian Islamic theocracy that guns down its own citizens in the streets.
The United States said Monday its invitations were still standing for Iranian diplomats to attend July 4 celebrations at US embassies despite the crackdown on opposition supporters.
President Barack Obama's administration said earlier this month it would invite Iran to US embassy barbecues for the national holiday for the first time since the two nations severed relations following the 1979 Islamic revolution.
"There's no thought to rescinding the invitations to Iranian diplomats," State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters.
H/T Mere Rhetoric

Wolf Howling comments: “Not just immoral, but obscene.” Read the entire post.
Here's some good news. You know that aktion against Trader Joe's by the Jew-hating thugs? Well, it was a complete and utter failure. Divest This! has the story.

Question: All the divest-from-Israel creatures who say they are concerned about human rights, human dignity, freedom, etc. where are they now that Iran is exploding?
Answer: No Jooz to blame, so why bother.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
All liberals decried Scowcroft and Eagleberger going to China after Tiananmen Square.
Now Obama is reaching out to Iran while they are killing their own people.
I guess this is the hope and change Obama voters thought they were getting. Someone should slap that stupid smile from the state department spokesman. He must be getting his speaking style from Gibbs.

Obama is inviting the Iranian dictators to a BBQ on the 4th of July... Dear G-d, let it be BBQ pork!

Prophet:
How about if Hooters caters all the parties with the Hooter girls serving bacon, pork chops and ham ("Dad all those meats come from the same animal" "Right Lisa, some wonderful, magical animal!").
How about if they have a keg serving Duff beer (Homer no function beer well without.)
How about if they hire Sacha Baron Cohen to play Bruno as entertainment at the parties (I like my beer cold... my TV loud... and my homosexuals flaming.)
Man they could just have Homer Simpson plan all the parties. I bet he doesn't have tax problems like the current chief of protocol.

The Left has sure changed in the last decades. During the Spanish Civil War, they joined the Abraham Lincoln Brigade fighting Franco's fascists. 2,800 Americans volunteered to go to Spain and fight (and die).
Now it seems that it isn't their "place to get involved in other countries issues". And they smugly tell you this, as if it were a badge of honor.
I keep thinking about Neda. Apparently she wasn't even an active protestor but against her family's pleadings not to go she went - and was in a traffic jam - and standing outside her car. She viewed the elections as a gross injustice and prophetically told her family that "1 bullet and its over".
She loved travel and had been overseas. She was a beautiful young woman and symbolizes better than words the brutality of this regime.

Bill:
Obama is the personification of where the Democrats have been going since 1968 - talk the talk about freedom and liberty but don't walk the walk. Instead of joining the AL Brigade they go to Iraq before the war to act as human shields.
July 4 is one of the most important dates in world history and Obama is treating it like it's another opportunity to have a mattress sale. To invite anyone associated with that regime to a July 4 celebration is disgusting. Why not just invite Charley Manson to the White House - he has the same view of Jews as the Iranian government.
I hope the image of Neda haunts Obama every night the rest of his life.

I hope the image of Neda haunts Obama every night the rest of his life.
It won't.
You have to have a sense of morals for this to affect you.

Dear Johnny: Your suggestions for the party are childish, tacky-ane excellent.

Correction: "Ane" should be "and."

Neda's murder was a terrible thing. Any murder is a terrible thing. It is terrible that these people are being beaten, imprisoned, tortured, shot. These people are extraordinarily brave-and extraordinarily anti-American and anti-Israel.
We must remember that Mousavi is just as much of an anti-Israel, U.S. hating nutjob as Ahmadinajad. If he succeeds in seizing power, there will be no change in Iran's policies or human rights record.
If Obama butts in on behalf of the Iranian protesters, every left-liberal in America will be demanding that he butt in on behalf of the "Palestinians."
Robert, you didn't worry for a minute about the Tamils in Sri Lanka. That was also a brutally-put down uprising. The U.S. should stay out of Iranian affairs.

Dear Mr. Brandt: Unfortunately, some Americans, like Rachel Good-Riddance-to-Bad-Rubbish Corrie, do think that its their "place to get involved in other countries issues," when its a chance to help destroy Israel.
I ache with sympathy for Neda, mainly because, though I'm sure she was an Israel-hater, she couldn't help herself. She grew up in a culture of hate, lies and propaganda, with no access to facts. Rachel Corrie grew up in a civilized country, with plenty of access to facts about the Middle East, and she chose to ally herself with people whose raison d'etre was genocide and against the decentest people on the planet. Rachel KNEW the Israelis were suicidally nice. She stood in front of that bulldozer and counted on it to stop.

Has it occurred to anyone besides me that "basiji" sounds like "basenji?" Appropriate for a bunch of vicious dogs. If anyone on this website likes basenjis, I didn't mean that to be offensive-to basenjis.

Miranda - we know nothing about Neda - whether she hated Israel or not. I read in the LA Times (on the web) that she considered the election to be a gross travesty and went to the demonstration against her parent's wishes.
Reagan - to the consternation of the Left - certainly knew about encouraging one's friends - I heard on the radio - interviewing Natan Sharansky - that when Sharansky - in a gulag - heard that Reagan called the communist regime "The Evil Empire" he knew that were going to lose.
Obama to me simply represents the relative moralism that is prevalent on the left - unless of course the object is Israel and then they are quite judgemental.

As we rightly decry how the Jews have suffered at the hands of people like those leading Iran, it's worth remembering, now and again, that the victims of the mullahs also include their own people.
It reminds me of Golda Meir's wise words:
"When peace comes, we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons. But it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons."
