Joy to These Loving Companions

A traditional Chuppah, Jewish wedding ceremony.
Karen and I are in New York.
This Shabbat we celebrate the Aufruf of our wonderful, soon-to-be, son-in-law. And then on Monday the chuppah where Offspring#3 will stand under the wedding canopy with her Bashert.
The first Sheva B'rachot will take place in New York, and then we all fly back to Los Angeles for the remainder.
Blogging will probably be rather light over the next few days.
I will be taking photos at the wedding and, as promised, I'll reveal Karen and Offspring #2's awesome wedding footwear.
Here is the text for the Sheva B'rachot. To hear the traditional chants, click here.
1. "Blessed are You, Lord, our G-d, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine."
2."Blessed are You, Lord, our G-d, King of the universe, , who created everything for his glory.
3. "Blessed are You, Lord, our G-d, King of the universe, who creator of man.
4. “Blessed are You, Lord, our G-d, King of the universe, who creates man in your image, fashioning perpetuated life. Blessed are You, Lord, creator of man.”
5. “May Zion rejoice as her children are restored to her in joy. Blessed are You, Lord, who causes Zion to rejoice her children’s return.”
6. “Grant perfect joy to these loving companions, as you did your creations in the Garden of Eden. Blessed are You, Lord, who grants the joy of groom and bride.”
7. “Blessed are You, Lord, our G-d, King of the universe, who created joy and gladness, groom and bride, mirth, song, delight and rejoicing, love and harmony and peace and companionship. Lord our G-d, may there ever be heard in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem voices of joy and gladness, voices of groom and bride, the jubilant voices of those joined in marriage under the bridal canopy, the voices of young people feasting and singing. Blessed are You, Lord, who causes the groom to rejoice with his bride.”
Karen and I wish all our friends and relatives a lovely and miraculous Shabbat.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
mazal tov! wishing you a wonderful simcha and many more in the future :)

What do we learn from the illustration?
1. The Chasan and Kallah are covered with a Tallit.
2. The men and the women are standing in separate groups.
3. The Chuppah was held outdoors.
4. Our habit of talking to our friends during the Chuppah is not a recent development.

Yay! Great news - may you only go from simchas to simchas :) By the way, has Karen revealed her mysterious Calvin Klein shoes yet (or did I miss that?)?
Have a great Shabbos and enjoy the festivities!
