9/11 Trial: Coming Attractions

migraine.jpg

Rise at 3AM with a thunderous migraine.

Head downstairs and guzzle a few cups of very strong coffee. Ease into my favorite chair, wrap myself in a heavy quilted blanket—I'm shivering with pain—and try:

Not.

To.

Think.

But reality is, um reality and a news segment on Fox haunts me because one of the lawyers for the Islamist barbarians gives a clear preview of what we're in for:

The lesson our Islamist enemies take away from this Holder/Obama travesty?

If you commit a terrorist act of mass murder on American soil you will be handed all the constitutional rights of an American citizen, and as an extra bonus the opportunity to spread terrorist propaganda to a world audience.

No matter what happens with this trial, America loses, and the transnational Islamist terrorists reap huge benefits.

No wonder my head hurts.

OBAMANATION-7.jpg

At the same time, the defense for the Fort Hood terrorist have indicated that they will plead not guilty by reason of insanity. This, no doubt, will warm the hearts of liberals who maintain that Islam had nothing to do with Hasan's outspoken Islamist agenda.

My friend Shrink Wrapped, a practicing psychiatrist, cautions about the danger of using a trial to establish a new and delusional psychiatric diagnosis.

...there is no such thing as PTSD by osmosis or by proxy or via time inversion (where one develops Pre-Traumatic Stress Disorder.) The single most salient feature of Major Hasan's case is that he took whatever psychopathology he had (and I believe he had a fair amount, none of it dispositive) and subsumed it into subservience (submission) to Allah whereupon he took it upon himself to perform his religious duty and murder infidels who he believed were part of an army attacking his people. Everything else is BS.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

Robert:

You have to trust the smartest president ever.

That will make any headache go away.

We don't need no stinkin' healthcare. We have Obama.

One of the big drawbacks to the end of the school term is that I have time to watch the news. So I caught this interview on O'Reilly (Bill called the guy a weasel; I thought he was being too nice to the guy, and insulting weasels).

When the interview was replayed this morning on Fox, we turned to the Shopping Channel. No need to go to work already riled up, or throwing up.

It's not just my head that hurts--my HEART hurts for my country. Oh G-d, please help us. We've not gotten through a year of this administration yet; it feels like a decade already.

Today's Rasmussen Report Poll has Obama's approval rating at an all-time low and his disapproval rating at an all-time high.

More Americans are waking up to the fact that:

-There is no job creation.

-The deficit is a real problem and all the Obama programs from Health Care Reform to Cap and Trade will explode the deficit further.

-No one thinks trying the terrorists in civilian courts is a good idea except radical leftists and trial lawyers who think they are the guardians of all civilization.

-There is no job creation.

-1 in 4 homeowners is under water on their mortgage.

-The "Blame Bush" clock is running out... I give the Dems another few months of slight traction out of that one with independents and that's it.

-There is no job creation.

-President Obama is showing no interest in being an advocate for America. His top priorities are environmentalism and copying everything Europe does.

-Still no job creation.

Johnny:

I trust Obama to be Obama, which means a radical leftists who is intent on diminishing market capitalism and American power.

In short, I trust him to do his best to turn America into Belgium.

Dr. Carol:

I take refuge in my library of classic Hollywood movies.

Three more years of Obama induced migraines.

No medication except for a new administration in 2012.

Jake:

-Still no job creation.

Government does not create wealth or jobs.

Government steals wealth and creates bloated, inefficient bureaucracies.

Today's Rasmussen Report Poll has Obama's approval rating at an all-time low and his disapproval rating at an all-time high.

I can't wait until next year when Mika Brezinski reports that administration officials hope to get Obama's approval ratings back above Palin's. Their plan is to have him write another autobiography and hope he can draw the same crowds she did.

Almost certain that Bill Ayers ghosted Obama's Dreams From my [communist, deadbeat] Father.

One thing that always amazed me about Obama - his confidence at doing the job during his campaign in view of the fact that he had (a) no executive experiece, (b) no experience at running any enterprise, (c) deciding after 140 days in the US Senate to run for President.

He has to either know something the rest of us don't or be a narcissist. Any guesses as to the answer?

As for myself if faced with a similar situation - somehow finding myself President I would be so humbled - and scared of the job and the implications of doing wrong things - that I think I would surround myself with a number of people who have BTDT - at least in the executive office.

Look at the implications of **bad** decisions - Yalta comes to mind, the conduct of the war in Vietnam another - and to think your name is forever linked with a "bad" decision - would humble most people who have a clue what the job entails.

I heard on Hugh Hewitt's show that after all these months of dithering on Afghanistan, he wants to send 34,000 additional tropps instead of the 40,000 McCrystal requested.

And on Drudge today the British are openly complaining about this saying it is hard to justify to their public to keep the support of the war up.

This, and this idiotic decision by Holder to publicly try the mastermind of 9/11 tells me that Obama thinks only in political terms (assuaging his radical left base) and not in geopolitical - or realpolitik - terms. The world is teaching him a lesson on this omission. I think he is so egotistical the lesson is going unlearned.

I used to enjoy a glass of scotch every evening but I have omitted that since I decided to lose 30 lbs in the last year.

But something clearly has to be done ;-) Perhaps I, too, will have to take refuge in movies.

That's exactly right. Government certainly can't create real, revenue producing jobs.

But this crew can't even create a net number of "make-work" jobs! The best we're getting is some kind of temporary road project stuff and temporary construction on govt. buildings. The rest is just phony math.

If the nation is insisting on govt. help, give that $800 billion to the SBA and give the real employers in this country a chance to get out from under. That still would be wasteful, and you now politics would play a big role in who gets the loans, BUT if the nation insists on govt. action, at least make it effective.

Oh, and it would be nice if the govt. didn't kill what's left of private business with cap and trade and health care reform.
