Political Correctness Kills
There were plenty of explicit warnings that Hasan was an Islamist terrorist living comfortably in the bosom of the American military.
Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the gunman who killed 13 at America's Fort Hood military base, once gave a lecture to other doctors in which he said non-believers should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats.
He also told colleagues at America's top military hospital that non-Muslims were infidels condemned to hell who should be set on fire. The outburst came during an hour-long talk Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, gave on the Koran in front of dozens of other doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington DC, where he worked for six years before arriving at Fort Hood in July.
Colleagues had expected a discussion on a medical issue but were instead given an extremist interpretation of the Koran, which Hasan appeared to believe.
But why weren't there any whistle blowers?
A few paragraphs down we are hit with the explanation:
One Army doctor who knew him said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim soldier had stopped fellow officers from filing formal complaints.

...fear of appearing discriminatory...
The virus of political correctness has infected even our military.
Democracies always balance freedom and security. That's a given. But when fighting a multi-front war against a fanatic enemy, one must use common sense and err on the side of safety.
But for this cancer of radical liberal thought, thirteen young men and women would be alive today.
Meanwhile, we should view the Fort Hood terrorist massacre in the context of a popular internet call for decentralized Arab Muslim terrorism.
Counterterrorism blog notes that radical Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki's sermon "Constants on the Path of Jihad" has become a bible, er Koran, for lone wolf Muslim terrorists:
“Jihad does not end with the disappearance of a person. Jihad must continue regardless because it does not depend on any particular leader or individual… Jihad does not depend on any particular land. It is global. When the Muslim is in his land, he performs jihad… No borders or barriers stop it. The message cannot be conveyed without jihad. If a particular people or nation is classified as… ‘the people of war’ in the Shariah, that classification applies to them all over the earth. Islam cannot be customized to suit the conditions where you are, for instance Europe.”
Full analysis at Counterterrorism blog.
We should also be aware that the Arab-Muslim war against Israel is not a regional conflict concerning borders or so-called refugees—that's just a convenient justification. It is, in fact—and far too many Israelis don't comprehend this—part of a transnational Arab-Muslim war against “Jews, Crusaders and other infidels.”
The enemy is not at the gates.
The enemy has already breached the gates.
And the leftist media, at every turn, protect and enable the Islamists who are determined to destroy western civilization. How many times have we heard the chattering classes say: “It's not clear if religion is a motivating factor in the Ft. Hood attack...”
These people are not stupid. They are, however, supplicants at the idol of multiculturalism, a religion which posits that all people are the same, all religions are equal, and all we need to do is understand one other.
In truth, the Islamists understand us just perfectly.
But many of us don't understand the Islamists.
And this can be fatal for a civilization.
To get a clear-eyed view of the Isamist war against us I urge you to screen The Third Jihad, Radical islam's View of America.
In 72 minutes, the film reveals that radical Islamists driven by a religiously motivated rejection of western values cultures and religion are engaging in a multifaceted strategy to overcome the western world. In contrast to the use of “violent jihad” and terror to instill fear in “non-believers,” The Third Jihad introduces the concept of “cultural jihad” as a means to infiltrate and undermine our society from within.
This is a superb film that is politically incorrect.
Which means that it does not deny facts.
Have you noticed that President Barack Hussein Obama has never publicly uttered the phrase Islamic terrorist, or Islamic radical.
If ever anyone deserved the death penalty, Hasan is the poster boy for capital punishment. But I have little doubt that he will get jail time and then, probably, an early release for good behavior.
Update #1: Hasan frequented a strip club near Fort Hood. Not a big shock. There is a well documented history and pattern of devout Muslim terrorists getting their jollies before committing their murderous acts.
Update #2: The story is rapidly devolving into incompetence and insanity.
U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.
Full story here.
Update #3: And hey, look at all the moderate Muslims out in the streets protesting this heinous act.
Not really.
Silence = acceptance.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
" ...fear of appearing discriminatory..."
Daniel Pipes has a list of politically correct excuses uses by the MSM and other apologists for whenever an avowed intolerant Muslim
commits a violent act
http://frontpagemag.com/2009/11/09/sudden-jihad-or-inordinate-stress-at-ft-hood-by-daniel-pipes/
it would be funny, if it weren't so overwhelming tragic,
and still hasn't prevented a new atrocity after each time one of these excuses were given
the explanation is simple
the willingness to make excuses and do nothing, is seen as a green light for those islamic extremeists to continue their agenda

So many warning signs here. It really boggles the mind to think that so many were ignored.

The worst thing anyone has said was Gen Casey.
"Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse,"
General Casey deserves praise for his service. But if his attitude is SOP for our armed forces, we are in deep trouble.
13 brave soldiers are dead because diversity is so gosh darn important. Nothing like knowing your country has your back when you sign up for military service.
Those whacky muslims in the ME must be rolling on the floor laughing at us. We have a president with the name Hussein and our Army Chief of Staff thinks 13 dead is worth it if we have an army that can be used in the next Benetton commercial.
George Patton is spinning in his grave right now.

I am so angry about this that I could spit. My school played Army last Friday in an athletic contest, and before the game the announcer asked for a moment of silence for the "tragedy at Fort Hood". I looked across the field at my young ROTC students, and then said to my dad, "ATROCITY, not tragedy".
It's very rare that I cry, but I got choked up at that moment.

DrCarol:
A hurricane hitting New Orleans is a tragedy.
A mayor that has no clue on what to do when a hurricane is bearing down on New Orleans is gross incompetence.
Allowing a muslim that hates America the opportunity to kill 13 people is much more the latter than the former.
It's a tragedy that our government allows such PC incompetence to permeate the military.

As you say, "silence = acceptance." Which is why I was so shocked that such an ardent supporter of Jews dwelling in the Judean and Samarian land of their ancestors issued no condemnation of Yaakov Teitel, making it clear that his actions were opposed to everything that those he lived among believe in.
Posted by: Danny at November 9, 2009 08:33 PM
Danny:
Yaakov Teitel is a terrorist and his actions are abhorrent to me, to a vast majority of Jews and to the Jewish state. He has no popular support, no financial support, no support from mainstream Judaism, nor is he a member of any Jewish group. He is, in short, a true lone wolf. To compare Teitel's case to the dozens of Islamist groups who exist and thrive under a sanctioned theological umbrella—not to mention rogue Muslim states like Iran, Sudan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Iran—is rather odd.

"Non-believers should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats."
I can't help thinking of the P.G. Wodehouse character who threatened to tear somebody's head off and make him swallow it.

Dear Johnny: A hurricane hitting New Orleans is a disaster.
Dear DrCarol: What happened at Fort Hood was a massacre.
Posted by: Miranda Rose Smith at November 9, 2009 11:35 PM
Not all his victims were military. He killed a civilian and Texas can prosecute him for murder.
Not the state in which you want to be tried for that.

Remember that book "The Gift of Fear?" I think that book did a good job of crashing down PC foolishness and reminding people that their natural survival instincts are NOT to be ignored.
