Lancet: Phony Medicine, Sincere Jew-Hatred
![]()
The Lancet Medicine Show is coming to your town.
The Lancet, an allegedly prestigious British medical journal, has retracted claims that vaccines cause Autism.
It's a little late.
Phony medicine kills:
Meanwhile, Britain's child vaccination rates had plummeted to below 70% in some areas, down from more than 90% in the mid-1990s. The country has since suffered waves of measles outbreaks. In 1998 England and Wales had 56 cases; by 2008 the number was 1,370. In 2006, the first British child died of measles in more than a decade.
Meanwhile The Lancet has yet to retract a “study” recently published which claims that Palestinian wife beatings are the fault of—who else?—the Jooz.
Phyllis Chesler reports on the Lancet Blood Libel:
Their study is titled: “Association between exposure to political violence and intimate-partner violence in the occupied Palestinian territory: a cross-sectional study.” And yes, they have found that Palestinian husbands are more violent towards Palestinian wives as a function of the Israeli “occupation”— and that the violence increases significantly when the husbands are “directly” as opposed to “indirectly” exposed to political violence.
I believe that Arab and Muslim men, including Palestinian men, are indeed violent towards Arab and Muslim women. I also believe that war-related stress, including poverty, usually increases “intimate partner violence,” aka male domestic violence. But beyond that, how does one evaluate this study?
Full story here.
This is all part of a well-orchestrated plan to delegitimize the Jewish State. The attacks come every day, from every corner of the globe. The infamous Goldstone Report is a blood libel on an international scale. Ultimately, the Arab Muslim world and her leftist Western apologists are seeking to turn Israel into a pariah state, another South Africa. Israeli passports will no longer be recognized—first in Europe, then South America and finally North America—thus Israel wll be transformed into the final Jewish ghetto, ripe for genocide.
That is the plan.
What is our plan?
Fighting a defensive war is a sure road to defeat.

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.
1. No profanity.2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism. That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.
It is really easy to expose your kids unwittingly to the children of the anti-vaccination crowd. Some of these people take their kids out of the country and then without a care in the world will let you sit with your newborn right next to their kids who could be carrying God knows what. It's downright maddening and dangerous. It is so incredibly ignorant. I can understand if someone knows a parent whose child is one of the unfortunate kids who has the terrible reaction to the shot(s), but you have to be rational about these things. Thank God the shots are mandatory for public school. Thank God again that many private schools require them too. I think you need to be careful of the pre-school co-ops and home schooling groups though.
There is an episode of “This American Life”, hardly a Conservative outfit, called “Ruining It For the Rest of Us” in which they talk about the really horrible domino effect of parents refusing to vaccinate their kids.

" ... That is the plan.
What is our plan? ... "
To try to make the truth known to the majority of people who will listen to reason and supported facts.
In the end though, Israelis may finally wake up and realize that to the anti-semitic nations, it doesn't matter Israel does in terms of getting blamed, so in addition to continuing to do what is honorable and morally correct, they will finally take strong military measures and remove terrorist threats from within and without.

Interesting! The study seems sloppy for two main reasons; firstly the authors don't make any attempt to isolate other factors which may be responsible for the domestic violence, and secondly because as Ms. Chesler says, they don't do control experiments, nor do they look at similar statistics on the Israeli side. Having said that, I also noted that the authors do not seem to claim a causal relationship between political violence and domestic violence but only an association.
In any case, The Lancet is indeed a prestigious journal and the vaccine retraction and this study, while sad, does not mar the quality of other excellent articles published in it.

I find this vaguely reminiscent of claims that the Germans were driven to the Holocaust by their conflict with the Allies.
Were this a journal in my own field, I would refuse to submit papers to them or referee papers for them. As a non-physician, I'm not sure what I can do about it.

A couple of points:
The world's belief that poverty leads to crime is moral relativism at it's worst, and also sociology at its worst. Crime rates have fallen in the US since this recession started as they did during the Great Depression. The world's leading current criminal, Osama bin Laden, is and always was a millionaire.
Second, we have now had two solid examples of British pseudo-science in the last month. First was the proof that "scholars" and "scientists" at the University of East Anglia covered up global cooling evidence and went on a campaign to slur those who opposed them! Now this!
Finally, I take it as a matter of personal pride that my show, Varney and Company on Fox Business, was the first US broadcast outlet to report the Dr. Wakefield autism farce and the Lancet retraction.

I wonder what the Lancet would say about the extreme post traumatic stress disorder that the people of Sderot suffer after being pummeled with rockets from Gaza. *Perhaps* it *could* the fault of the terrorists? Hmmm...no, they would probably give a stock answer of it being the result of living on occupied land.

Talk about missing the elephant in the room. What "directly exposed to political violence" mostly means to Palestinians is that they're going out and deliberatly taking part in it. They're not more likely to beat their wives up because they've been exposed to war-related stress; they're more likely to beat their wives up because they're the sort of guys who like to spend their lives deliberately killing civilians. Honestly, these idiots do a study which shows, amazingly, a correlation between men who shoot infants and men who beat up their wives, and then they don't even have the nous to notice that that's what they've discovered.

How about having the Israel Journal of Medicine print an article linking Irish wife beating to the pressure I.R.A. men are under from the British? I know. Childish. Shame on me.

1. It's hard to blame Lancet for falling prey to anti-semitic tendencies when our Tel Avivian friends do it better and harder: There was a paper published that proposed that the reason Jewish soldiers don't rape Arab women is because Jewish racial animosity is so deep as to dehumanize the Arabs. That's hard to beat!
2. Squander, I don't see that Sderot contradicts the Lancet study at all. All the study showed was that exposure to daily violence causes men to beat Arab women. That just shows they subconsciously blame their mothers for being Arabs and making them what they are, and they are taking that anger out on their wives.

Sorry- I forgot to include the link to that fine paper about rape.

Miranda,
They'd have to get in a very long queue behind half the British media.
