Dubai: On the Lookout for Jews

0225-Hamas-assassination-Dubai-police-600_full_600.jpg
Dubai chart of the assassination. Your mission, should you choose to accept it,
is to identify the Jooz.

The media are in a self-righteous frenzy about the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a Hamas terrorist.

Was it a Mossad hit?

Probably.

Hope so.

Hey, I'm having trouble getting all worked up about the assassination of a known terrorist and bagman.

Dubai and the world press are just scandalized that false passports were used. Afterall, the assassins should have played fair and used their real passports, right?

They're also all worked up that there were false beards, bad wigs, big hats, and a clean get-a-way.

There's also outrage that there were so many assassins.

Because, um, their carbon footprint was way too big.

But the real scandal is that Dubai knowingly allowed this murderer and terrorist financier to use their country as a forward base for meeting with Iranian agents to secure arms and funding.

Look, if the U.S. can use drones in Afghanistan to delete terrorist scum—with collateral damage, meaning innocent civilians—then a clean hit in a Dubai hotel room seems perfectly within the bounds of counterterrorist activities.

You want to get all worked up about some false passports?

Knock yourself out.

I'd like to volunteer the use of my passport if it will help liquidate an Islamist terrorist.

It would be an honor.

But let's focus for a moment on Dahi Khalfan Tamim, the Dubai chief of police, who, not surprisingly, is a raving Jew-hater. Elder of Ziyon reports on comments that have not been reported in the clueless Western press.

Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, said Israel is a rogue state, and that goes beyond international legitimacy and laws. Its leaders have sick mentalities, and they need psychologists, saying that its use of passports shows great arrogance and contempt for the world.
(Tamim said that) the leaders of Israel have blood on their hands the blood of others throughout history, pointing out that the "Israeli" people are human beings like any other people who want to be loved and open to others but that the successive governments, the Governments of bloodshed and assassinations, and wars and the Governments of the occupation and aggression, are not interested in peace in the world at all.
He added that the vanity which haunts the Israeli mentality stems from the time of Pharaoh, and their hate comes up to this day and age.
He said that the entire world should study the mentality of the Israeli leaders throughout history. Their sick psyches needs to be analyzed by psychology professors, who need to examine why they launch crises, and why they brought on themselves hate from others, since the time of Moses, peace be upon him.
He said we will train our personnel in the passport of the forms and features of the Jewish people and their names, noting that no one can hide their features of Jewishness. He asked the appropriate departments to prepare nationality and residency sessions to familiarize the staff with [Jewish] forms and names, especially since most Jews hold dual passports [with Israel.]

More here.

I like the part about “training their personnel in the features of the Jewish people and their names.”

Good luck with that fella.

What a racist moron.

And this is the guy the world press is breathlessly quoting as if he's some Muslim Sherlock Holmes.

Meanwhile, where is the CCTV footage outside al-Mabhouh's room?

Whoops.

Once again, Elder of Ziyon reports that the so-called “careless” assassins jammed those particular hallway cameras.

Nice.

Apparently, Interpol is getting involved in the investigation and are looking to arrest the assassins.

But Interpol never sought to arrest al-Mabhouh, a known murderer and terrorist.

Weird how that works, huh?

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

1. No profanity.

2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

Maybe the Mossad should put hits on this dipstick and Mr. "I'm in a Dinner Jacket" to redirect the world crazies' thinking. IE. Mess with Israel. Want to wipe it off the map. You get your ticket punched for judgement. G-d has a waste bucket called Hell to deposit such waste into.

The police chief has all the credibility of Inspector Clousseau.

"I like the part about “training their personnel in the features of the Jewish people and their names.”"

Makes me think of a scene near the beginning of Exodus. You know, where Paul Newman's character has something in his eye.

Curious that he's effectively calling for profiling. Where is the outrage amongst our own liberals?

If they're training security in Jewish physiognomy, their work is cut out for them. But I recommend the following website for making it easier: http://www.jewornotjew.com/index.jsp
so that people like Elizabeth Berkley and the Gyllenhalls won't slip through their net. Chomsky, on the other hand, they can have.

Looking at that picture the first thing that comes to mind is "that's an awful lot of people to kill one dude." I have no real way of knowing but I find it hard to believe that so many people are necessary in one of these types of operations. And even if that many people are necessary, I doubt so many would have been involved in a way that would make their involvement identifiable.

From Wikipedia's list of the Presidents of Interpol (with their nationalities)
Nazi Germany - Otto Steinhäusl to 1940; Nazi Germany - Reinhard Heydrich to 1942; Nazi Germany - Arthur Nebe to 1943; Nazi Germany - Ernst Kaltenbrunner to 1945.

Rather telling, I thought. There's lots of fussing going on here in Ireland over the use of Irish passports by some of the team in Dubai. I can't quite understand it, given that we officially sold them for €1.3m each throughout the 1980s. We refused to extradite terrorist suspects to the UK until the 1990s. All the (alleged) Mossad team were doing was borrowing some passport numbers temporarily.

Posted by: Éamonn at March 3, 2010 04:24 AM

If Mossad asked for people to volunteer their passports for use in certain operations, I'm sure that there would be a lot of people willing to help.

Posted by: pdwalker at March 3, 2010 05:24 AM

Seraphic Son-in-law #1, To do a specific hit and get your people out, it does take a lot of people. This isn't "Mission: Impossible".

Actually, this could be a Mossad recruiting tool. G-d knows that Dumbo and his Circus of Liberals freaks aren't recruiting serious people for the CIA. Maybe the Mossad would be interesting for said people.

Posted by: PCD at March 3, 2010 07:24 AM

Robert Baer argued that Israel needed that many people. There are still some gaps. As Robert pointed out there's no surveillance video from the corridor outside Mabhouh's room, so anyone who believes the folks he's identified are really Mossad agents have to take his word for it. Additionally as Daniel Jackson observes, no identified members of the hit team were Sephardi, something you would expect if the secret agents wanted to be unobtrusive. And finally it was reported that two of the hit people escaped to Iran. If they were Israeli agents, what sense does that make?

Apart from Tamim's overt but ignored antisemitism, there are plenty of questions his presentation raise. Today's NYT though only concerns itself whether Dubai has successfully preserved its image as a safe place. Regarding Tamim, the Times is credulous. This is about as critical as it gets:
Mr. Tamim has complained in the past about the foreign news media. He also has a reputation as an Arab nationalist, more ardently opposed to Israel than many in this relatively apolitical, businesslike city. (Mr. Tamim declined to be interviewed for this article.)

"[O]pposed to Israel." That's a nice euphemism.

PCD:

I can pretty much guarantee that the next big Mossad hit will be Hizbullah terrorist leader Nasrallah who cowers in a bunker in Beirut. Sooner or later, he will be turned into red mist.

Jew not Jew. Very funny. Meanwhile, millions of devout of Spanish Catholics have Jewish blood. DNA test have revealed that they are the offspring of Conversos.

Son-in-Law:

Hey, your very first comment.

Mazal Tov!

I recently read on a credible counter terrorist blog that 20 agents or most would not be out of line for an assassination of this complexity. The environment has to be controlled and there are all sorts of b,c, and d plans that might be necessary if things go south. In any case, no matter what the Dubai Police assert, they have no idea what really happened or how many were involved because most certainly there were Hamas informants in the mix.

Posted by: Robert J. Avrech at March 3, 2010 11:00 AM

Eammon:

Yes, I did notice that the Irish were quite vocal about, ahem, passport fraud.

I'm looking for the outrage that Hamas is a proudly Jew-hating and genocidal gang of Islamist lunatics who would like nothing better than to slaughter every Catholic on the face of the earth—they have a special hatred for the Pope—and turn your lovely land into a Caliphate.

And hey, what a shock, Obama has just given Interpol a free hand in America.

Soccer Dad:

Thanks so much for the background, analysis and links. I think it highly unlikely that we will know the truth anytime soon. Which is just fine by me. I'm just happy that the terrorist is dead.

Posted by: Robert J. Avrech at March 3, 2010 11:14 AM

Robert, I did see speculation where fingers are being pointed at Egypt and Jordan for the hit.

Posted by: PCD at March 3, 2010 11:32 AM

PCD:

Here's my feeling. The Arab security services never, but never worry about collateral damage. They tend to go big and use overpowering force. If innocents get killed, well, they don't really care. They favor massive car bombs or multiple machine guns. The Arabs are not known for subtle hits. OTOH, the Mossad goes to great lengths to avoid killing civilians and they don't like to leave chaos in their wake. I think that's the best argument in favor of an Israel hit. But as Soccer Dad points out, why didn't they use any Sephardic agents? Perhaps it's because Dubai is neck deep in European businessmen.

Posted by: Robert J. Avrech at March 3, 2010 11:42 AM

I hate to take issue with you Robert but, in fact, I think this assassination - assuming it was a Mossad operation occurring on Dubai's soil - was quite scandalous and yes, I am worked up over it. Leaving aside all of my concerns for international law, I find this act very problematic. Why didn't they wait for the IRGC agents to show up and assassinate the lot of them? Talk about your missed opportunities . . .

Posted by: GW at March 3, 2010 11:56 AM

GW:

Let's see, it took approximately 30 agents to delete one Hamas terrorist with surgical precision. That's not counting all the assets involved in the months if not years of electronic and eyes-on surveillance that were poured into the hit. They had to follow his electronic trail, penetrate his security, and know his exact movements. To erase the IRGC would probably take an army of covert agents—who would not be covert for very long.

Unless they just dropped a daisy cutter.

Robert: I undertand. It is unfortunate but true that it is always hard to engage tongue in cheek in this medium, which was how I had hoped my feigned upset would be taken. I share my lament over the difficulties of this medium with Charles Krauthammer who has warned of it many times previous.

GW:

I actually got the irony in your comment. I was indulging in my own tongue-in-cheek comeback.

Thus, we both failed:-)

Posted by: Robert J. Avrech at March 4, 2010 09:38 AM

I have read Robert Baer's two books and he gives the impression (like most CIA agents) that he does not like Israel. It is cause for concern that the CIA and State Department together do not hire Jews, and that many CIA agents have already converted to Islam. Also for some reason I have the feeling that this football team of 30 or some assassins is actually a collection of 3 suspicious groups filmed on 3 different occasions and rolled into 1. Aside from a planning stage, Prison gangs only use one or two assassins to kill somebody. John Gotti only used four shooters to rub out Paul Castellano. Sirhan Sirhan, the first Palestinian terrorist in America executed Robert Kennedy by himself.
