The Israeli election of 2015 is a crushing defeat for Barack Obama and the appeasers of the left.
Despite the dozens of Obama’s Democrat operatives who flooded Israel in the past few months, despite the unprecedented vilification Benjamin Netanyahu has suffered at the hands of the mainstream American and Israeli media (save for Sheldon Adelson’s daily Israel Hayom), despite the leftist alliance with the Joint (Arab) List whose declared goal is to dismantle the Jewish state, and despite the laundered money that Obama’s State Department funneled into the coffers of leftist Israeli political operatives, Netanyahu and Likud won a historic victory.
How did the polls get it so wrong?
Because they wanted to. Because bad polling is essential to the leftist game plan, which is designed to suppress the opposition’s vote.
It was also because Israel’s ideological right wing decided that it was more important to save Israel from Iran and Obama than to throw its vote away on smaller parties. The Israeli right gave up principle for reality.
The reason the whole world is fixated on elections in this tiny state is because it understands that this is a David-versus-Goliath narrative. Obama has sought throughout his six years in office to demonize, marginalize, and finally unseat Bibi Netanyahu. If he were to succeed, he could claim consensus on his policy of appeasement toward Iran’s genocidal regime.
But now, after the election, Bibi has emerged even stronger than before.
For that we can thank Barack Obama, since the majority in Israel resents his shameless meddling in the country’s democratic process.
On a deeper level, Israel understands that Obama’s problem is not with Benjamin Netanyahu, but with the Jewish state.
David has won. Again.
Funny how Jewish history constantly thwarts the Pharaohs and Hamans in their… um… solutions for the Jewish people.
According to this morning’s paper, Bibi has already retracted (or at least watered down) his “no Palestinian state” pledge. Curious. I’m not sure what to make of this. If it was an attempt to stop the Obama administration from becoming even more overtly anti-Israel, it seems to have failed.
Obama and his regime reek of Jew-hatred.
“Despite…”
Reminds me of “Operation Clark County.” http://antoineclarke.blogspot.co.uk/2004/12/was-it-guardian-wot-won-it-for-bush.html
Thank G-d. I was traveling and at a conference all day, and didn’t find out the results until late at night. SO relieved.
“Because bad polling is essential to the Leftist game plan designed to suppress the vote of the opposition.”
Brilliant analysis and insight, Robert.
Thank your for articulating what I have often surmised and believed but did not quite know how to express.

When I saw the news last night I said that there must be gloom in the White House. I am wondering if his Congressional speech – reminding the world of the dangers faced – helped him?
