The goal of the postmodern Democrat party is to centralize and harness the power of the state, which is then used as a blunt instrument of intimidation to suppress liberty and bring about an imagined Socialist utopia.
Because Socialism always brings poverty, unemployment, misery and chaos wherever it rears its collective head, Democrats have re-branded Socialism with the feel-good label of Social Justice.
There is no such thing.

There is only justice.
If you hear someone passionately advocating for Social Justice you are looking at a liberal fascist.
In order to enlist social justice drones into their army, the Democrats use the classic Marxist-Leninist tactic of class warfare. The practical effect of class warfare is to Balkanize the American people into small, manageable segments that view the world through a primitive tribal lens. In fact, the Democrats are replicating the sectarian divisions that make the Muslim world an endless killing ground. For Democrats, it is always us against them in a Hobbesian war of shrinking resources. The Democrats posit a zero-sum theory of society. If your neighbor has a bigger house, a nicer car, a higher standard of living than you, it’s because he stole what is rightfully yours.
The fact that perhaps your neighbor worked harder than you, or caught a few lucky breaks, or works in a field that pays a higher salary than your chosen profession, is deftly ignored.
Gone is the notion that in America there are no fixed classes. One generation you are an impoverished immigrant family, and in the very next generation the children have risen in the economic ladder through education and hard work, all supported by the bedrock of the traditional family.
To Democrats, America is always Western Europe in the 14th century where royalty live large while peasants starve and the Jacquerie are, um, revolting.
The Democrats, we must admit, are excellent at what they do. They cannot build a website, they cannot build reservoirs in California — the main reason for our current drought — but they can destroy what once functioned (Detroit, California, Chicago, Oregon) and they can and do harvest ever more Democrats who are equally inept in the practical aspects of life and governance.
“The personal is the political” was the rallying cry of the New Left in the 60s.
And that horrifying ideology, whose apotheosis is the gulag of North Korea, has wormed its way into the very fabric of American society in ways that even George Orwell never predicted. In his great novel 1984, society still consisted of men and women. True, the state made a mockery of love, but masculine/feminine was, to Orwell, never in question.
How very quaint of George O.
I still remember the days when there were just two genders, girls and boys.
And then suddenly, four genders: male, female, gay, transgender .
That’s so yesterday.
Facebook, that arbiter of all things social, now lists over 50 gender options.
- Agender
- Androgyne

- Two-Spirit
I have no idea what most of these categories indicate. For that I am grateful. One can only shudder with equal parts compassion and horror at the metaphysical and biological confusion that this laundry list signifies.
Two-Spirit?
Is this perhaps a subconscious confession of bi-polar disorder? And is this not discrimination against the struggling mass of Three-Spirit persons yearning to breathe free?
To Balkanize sexuality is, quite simply, a way of gathering more Democrat votes.
Politics aside, Facebook, that passionate advocate for all things Democrat, has now normalized mental illness. And your children and grandchildren swim in this sea of politically correct dementia every minute of their lives.
Now will people believe me that Cousin Itt of the “Adams Family” was no mere comedic device?!
Years ago, when I was on the legislative commission of the California Medical Association, I met Kitzhaber and was impressed with him. Unfortunately, his Medicaid plans have never worked. I read that Weekly Standard piece (thanks, by the way) all the way through and the writer never mentioned the first Oregon attempt at rationing, They ranked all the medical interventions based on frequency, cost and effectiveness. When they ran the program the highest ranked treatment was for the common cold !. Yes, the common cold !
Back to the drawing board.
The bureaucrats do not want studies of effectiveness or quality. I learned this after spending a year at Dartmouth getting another degree after I retired. In fairness, I should add that insurance companies are no more interested in quality of care than the government.
Interesting!! 50 choice and I still can’t pick male or female! Guess you can’t have social justice if your not part of the “new normal”
In fairness, male and female are listed. I did not include them in the list of the demented. My bad.
The Jacquerie have become the Jacobin with Obamacare as the first stage of the new Terror.
Larry:
I have been re-reading Tuchman’s brilliant and riveting “A Distant Mirror.” Her vivid descriptions of the ruinous taxes levied by the rulers of France and England are precedent for Obama and the Democrats.
Interesting. I haven’t read that but a quick check suggests that she parallels her book’s period with WWI. That & my reference to the Jacobins makes me think of the rhyme scheme of history. (http://www.barrypopik.com/index.php/new_york_city/entry/history_doesnt_repeat_itself_but_it_does_rhyme/)
Ah yes. “Two-spirit.” Something some sociologist/gender studies prof glommed onto. The term is always attributed to “Native American,” but I have yet to find it acknowledged by *any* Indian person familiar with their traditions or a traditionalist. It is truly shocking in higher education– a Navajo friend and I were invited to discuss comtemporary Native issues at a local university undergrad class, and there were two or three students in that class who were completely and totally focused on the whole “two-spirit” nonsense. We politely attempted to let the class know that Native communities generally don’t make a big deal out of people’s private lives and habits, and unless disruptive, people just don’t pay much attention to ‘orientation’ issues. Native communities have more important issues to be dealing with. It was scary that those older students just couldn’t focus on anything else.
Robert, just curious: how/why did Oregon make the list of the formerly functional? California and Detroit are well-known examples, but I hadn’t associated Oregon with them.
Just go to The Weekly Standard and read the excellent, eye-opening feature story about Oregon:The Guinea Pig State.
Here’s the link: http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/guinea-pig-state_781565.html
About 10 years ago, I worked on a major computer systems upgrade at a Big Ten University. There was great discussion about the options to be provided for gender selection, but it was finally determined to use Male/Female/Not Reported as the only 3 choices. One of my programmers had previously worked for the State of California and he showed me some code for their 9 gender choices (and this was about 15 years ago). Amongst ourselves, we decided “gender” was getting to be an old-fashioned category and suggested it should be changed to “I was born with:” A Penis/A Vagina/I don’t know”, but even that was challenged by my liberal programmers… *sigh*
It’s all about the “science”… until “feelings” get in the way. 🙂
