Did President Trump call neo-Nazis “very fine people” during a famous press conference following the Charlottesville riots of August 2017? The major media reported that he did. But what if their reporting is wrong? Worse, what if their reporting is wrong and they know it’s wrong? A straight exploration of the facts should reveal the truth. That’s what CNN political analyst Steve Cortes does in this critically important video.
Confederate Monuments
Washington Gets The Statue It Deserves

After all the national trauma over public statues I have been anxiously waiting to see what new public monuments would spring up. Would the landscape be planted with fresh bronze likenesses of Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and other brave and deserving American leaders?
Well, now we have a partial answer.
A statue honoring Marion Barry, Jr. has been plopped down on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Theater Cancels Gone With the Wind

This is one of the consequences of allowing the left to arbitrate what is acceptable in our culture.
Once you appease the left, on any issue, they, like all fascists, smell blood in the water, and move on to devour other issues. Same sex marriage leads to the the left’s current gender identity hysteria. Never underestimate the animating fervor of the multiple sexual pathologies that animate large slices of the left’s ideology.
And now you have a teacher traumatizing children by telling them a boy is magically a girl.
Once the left is given permission to tear down historical monuments, they predictably move on to banning classic movies. Soon copies of Margaret Mitchell’s novel will be gone from the bookshelves.
The lesson here is simple. We must never allow the left to dictate the rules of culture. Because when they do, totalitarian repression follows and free speech is one of the first casualties.
Because the left has one major goal: destroy the traditional family and replace it with big government.
Tearing Down Confederate Monuments

I have no love for the Confederacy. Slavery was evil. The cause of Southern secession was unjust and deserved to be defeated.
However, this abrupt cultural paroxysm in which monuments honoring rebel leaders and soldiers are torn down or removed in the dead of night is not a healthy development. Decisions like this should be made by townships and cities after a healthy debate and then a vote.
This rush on the part of craven politicians and crazed activists is just virtue signaling. They are more righteous than you. They are better people than those Southern rednecks.
But just as same sex marriage wasn’t really about same sex marriage. And Obamacare wasn’t really about health care. We will all discover that the tearing down of these monuments is not about Southern monuments.
