Well, clearly Mitt Romney reads Seraphic Secret.
Yesterday we asserted that two foreign policy issues should dominate the final Romney-Obama debate: 1) The greatest threat to America’s national security is our failing economy. 2) A nuclear Iran.
Thus, Romney relentlessly hammered away at Obama’s failed economic policies, linking this with weakness overseas. Regarding Iran, Romney was measured and steady, explaining that the Iranians are four years closer to a bomb.
Obama was bellicose, condescending, and downright rude.
A political innocent who just happened to tune into the debate would peg Obama as the desperate challenger to Romney’s confident incumbent.
Obama kept trying to draw Governor Romney into a rumble, but Romney wisely declined. He focused on the forest, the big picture. Obama sank into the mud with gratuitous cracks and insults that only made the president look small and nasty.
The split screen was a lesson in the power of image-making.
