Chanukah Baby Photo Op

chanukahday6.jpg
Sixth day of Chanukah in Casa Avrech.

Karen and I, as you can imagine, are glowing with joy at the birth of our second granddaughter. Chanukah has always been my favorite holiday for its powerful and miraculous narrative of the triumph of Torah Judaism in the face of overwhelming odds. And now, a Chanukah granddaughter invests this holiday with even more significance.

And Offspring #2 begat Offspring #2, who will be named tomorrow morning, Rosh Chodesh, at Shacharit, morning prayers.

It is a pleasure to share this simcha with all our readers.

Thank you for your kind and generous comments. They make us feel that we have an unseen but deeply caring extended family.

Comment Rules

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

  1. No profanity.
  2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

Babies and brides are beautiful by definition, however, that baby really is beautiful. Such a wonderful blessing. My heartiest congratulations to you.

What a gorgeous baby! You both must be so thrilled.
She will be doubly blessed for being a Chanukah baby–there is something about being born during beloved and precious holidays that makes birthdays very special (I should know–mine is in a couple of weeks, and that date is the reason I am DrCarol and not DrLinda).
Once again, Mazel Tov to the Avrech family and its newest member. I can’t wait to find out her name!

Our baby is 19 months old now (a wonderful age to be sure), but with each of our 4 kids, I absolutely loved the newborn, swaddling stage… I just want to hold her!
She won’t be near Chicago or St. Louis soon, will she? I could meet you… :-)
I’m just kidding (well, sort of). I know I would stand little chance of prying that angel out of Karen’s or your arms…
    Again, Mazal Tov!!
