Step into my office these days and it’s likely that you’ll hear the wonderful new CD by the Yeshiva Flatbush High School Choirs, Y’hey Shalom, There Will be Peace.
I continually play this new disc as I write my latest screenplay: the tale of a counter-terrorist female sniper.
What can I say: This music inspires me to write furious gun battles, rubber burning car chases, tender love scenes, and cracker-jack dialogue.
Just kidding.
It’s just great Jewish music and massages every single word I write.
Here at Casa Avrech, we have all adored each and every previous Flatbush CD and this one just might be the best they have ever produced.

That’s why I’m writing the movie. I looked around and said: “This world really needs a female counter terrorist sniper. I know, I’ll make her up!”
That’s how movies are born.

A female counter-terrorist sniper? Now that’s a movie I want to see.

Flatbush are extremely professional. And their choir-master Daniel Henkin is incredibly talented. Unfortunately for Flatbush, he’s leaving for a full-time position at main rival Ramaz.
That’s gotta hurt.

they have cds? they’ve become so professional.
actually they have an amazing choir leader. unfortunately i was unable to go to the yom haatzmaut and yom hashoah performances this year because of exams
when i was in flatbush we all joined the choir because it meant missing 2 periods every friday (and even more before performances). most of us did not have even decent voices.
