Wandering around my beautiful neighborhood recently, I’ve noticed lots of blue.
Always on the lookout for compelling Friday Photos, I decided that blue would be a fun theme. And then, once I made that decision, all I saw was blue: blue cars, blue buildings — you name it, it’s blue. I suppose the same thing would happen if I decided on green, red or — I dunno — pink?
Anyhoo.
More blue.

A striking planter on the front steps of Casa Avrech. The door is steel blue and notice the blue tiles in the saltillo pavers.

You live in SoCal. Everything is blue there during election season.
And speaking of blue, here’s hoping the Dodgers either win their division or finish behind the Cardinals (nice conservative red) for the wild card.

Everything is blue except for the movie theaters showing “2016: Obama’s America.”
The Dodgers: what can I say but my father and I are still heartbroken that they left Brooklyn.

I like the parking lot barriers – which show you that one doesn’t have to simply stare at concrete. Surprised the taggers haven’t “improved” them. Like D_mnFinn like the knife, like PJ, don’t understand the artwork.
But I have something similar: Arturo Secunda – “Rise and Shine” http://artqwest.com/artists/secunda/secunda-ab.html – pretty blue but still at $60 for a signed proff – after 20 years – seems I’m not the only one who “doesn’t get it”

Yes, the parking lot barriers are wonderful. Not a lot of graffiti in my neighborhhod. I really like your art work. It’s hypnotic.

Here’s a link where you can buy the Star of David knife:

Tell them I sent you:-)
A little grammar:
goy: singular
goyim: plural
Thus: “Can a goy like me have one?”
The word goyim is in the Torah and refers to “other nations” nations that are not Jewish.
And remember to remove the knife from your key chain before heading to the airport. I have given up I don’t know how many knives with the security people.

Blue is my favorite color. I love the blue mustang, the flower pot, and the pocket knife. I’ve always like The Blue Boy — although I don’t know why. I’m so “out of touch” with art and art history that I try to stay quiet on the subject so as not to sound pitifully ignorant on the subject!

No offense intended, but I’m not a huge fan of Liquid Harvest. Would that be called modern art? Not a big fan, but I’ll admit there is something mesmerizing about the work. Each time I go back to it, I get this “Oh, I don’t like modern art…. but” feeling. Maybe I do like some modern art
Still, I’m much more appreciative of photographic arts. Thanks again, Robert.

“Liquid Harvest” is modern abstract art. And I understand your confusion about what it all means because the objective surface is the meaning.
Frank Stella, a great modern artist, said it best: “What you see is what you see.”
